craigs mk1 esky

hey guys, i have a mk1 escort that i am restoring. it had a 1100cc engine in it but is going to be fitted with a 2L pinto from a cortina.
i plan to get it road registered and slowly turn in into a hill climb and track car.
any feedback and advice would be great, cheers

removed old 1100 engine from vehicle. best thing for the car yet.
engine bay requires some re-painting badly.

Looks like an excellent starting point you've got. I reckon you should keep the 1100 big block in there [:p] Might not be so good for track/hill climb though.

i changed the grille to suit round headlights. bought a fibreglass copy of the round section, cut apart old grille to make them fit. still a work in progress.
also cut the original bumper to make my own bumperettes, not sure if they will stay of if i will get new ones.
had to add park light and indicator assembly to front as the new headlights had no space for a park light.

i have painted the rocker cover, sump and timing cover in ford blue.
also painted the 2L block in ford blue.
The last pic is of one of the pistons i had in one of me 2L engines. when i pulled her apart and saw that i thought it was just better to buy another 2L haha
