Not much, my formula ford engines make that, basically a GT engine built right.

hey mate, ive got the latest CF pommy magazine.. theres a special about tuning crossflows.
ill give ya the long story short.:
cams recomended is high lift, short duration cams.
fit an aldon advance mechanicical electronic distributer
steel main caps and complete balancing allows the kents bottom end to handle around 8000rpm
get 40DCOE's with around 36mm chokes and this can take you up to 150hp.
recomended valve sizes: std can see you up to 125 hp really pushing it, if you get out the 40.7 inlet's and 34.0 exhaust you can see 125-145hp...
electronic fuel pump with regulator is a must.
a common problem with old kent motors : when building a powerd up motor or even just a stock rebuild always check something thats commonly missed.. cracks between the exhaust and inlet valve. as they really are quiet close together.
other than that good luck!
recomends for a 1600 block you overbore +0.090 inch. so 90 thou.
or if cheaply chuck some 1300 pistons in!

yeah they're very ristricted but the guys who build them really know what they're doing, some of those cars are bloody quick.
Have a good talk to mk1 lotus, he really knows what he's doing, build's some very QUICK cars.
He also sells a lot of the bits you'll need to do your 1600 up, think he's a kent cams agent, very nice guy.
cheers
