Hey Paul,

What is smallest wheel that will fit over the R31 disc conversion?
Have you got any made up already?

Cheers

I'm not sure of the minimim diam - maybe 14" but maybe others can confirm as I will be running 15's.

Cheers

thanks Matt
I was hoping that was the answer - I just bought a set of 13x7 Dragways and didn't even think about the brakes.
How hard is this conversion to do?

Apart from the adapted brackets what else do you need to modify?

Thanks
Patrick

Hi Guys,

I have had a persistant squeak in the rear brakes so decided to pull off the wheels and work out why.

Turns out I have a heap of runout on the rotors.  About 2-3mm which is heaps.

I ended up using protex rotors instead of DBA/RDA so could this be an issue.

I have a set of RDA's rotors as well but they seem to have a smaller ID than the protex ones so I'd need to get my axles machined further to fit them.

Has anyone had the face of the axle machined as well to ensure the mating surface is flush?

Anyone have any ideas on what I can check?

Cheers

Matt

Does the who wheel wobble or just run out in the rotor?? Could be just a cheap disc...
If the whole wheel wobble I would look at your axle...

Hi Matt
If the axle flange is even slightly too large the rotor hat will not sit flush against the axle flange.
You also need to make sure a small chamfer is machined on the outside edge of the axle flange (can be done with a file if need be) as there is a small radius on the inside of the rotor hat which may also prevent it seating correctly.
Hope this helps.

Cheers

Paul

Got mine from Bursons.  About $30.00 per side from memory.  You can get them on eBay too.

Fixed my issues.  I had a friend machine another 1.5mm off the axle flange and now it all runs true.

Cheers
