Escort Escapee '76

I thought this might be of interest to to fellow Escort Enthusiasts..
Going back thru my photo album i found pics of a mk2 i restored in '99, i got it from a wrecker for $100, it was rusty and believed i paid $97.50 too much !!
It was red when i got it but as the sanding back process was on i noticed it was originally white with red/yellow stripes along the sides...rare?
I asked Ford about them, they said about 250/300 were made(from memory)!!
Good enough reason for me to save it....

I wonder if its alive or dead !

Still got it or long gone?

I also noticed the silver Mk1 RS in your other photos. Did you build that one?

    Hi Rhys,

    Thanks, Marty

Yeh I've met current owner a few times. Sounds like he has quite a collection going on.

Last time I spoke with him he'd just taken it to a come and try day at the Hill Climbs.

Yeah i put it in Classic Ford Mag's 'readers cars' way back in July 2000, i also have my mk2 orange Mexico lookalike in an earlier mag(Oct '98), also a red mk1 went in the August '03. After that i was featured in 'Grafters' in August '07..
Thanks for your detective work and memory
