matts mk2 sr20det escort

well been on here a while now and have seen a lot of nice
Escorts so i thought i would ad mine to the project section.
i picked it up for $500 and it started out looking like this

a absoloute bucket of rust.
so far ive had it tidyed up and painted. as well as 4 link rear end,eb xr6 diff, modified gear box tunnel, modified cross member and s14 sr2odet motor with a few mods.was making 189rwkw but i hope to crack the 200 with a bit of tweking.and hole heap of goodies that will eventually get fitted.

will post some more pics when it starts to come together a bit more and i can get some better shots.

test fited the rear seat and it looks like i will fit
with a bit of choping. but probally wont be very useble.
trying to stay as stealthy as possible so will be trying
to get it all behind the grill.

    Hi Matt.
Did you have your shell done up @ Lobethal?
I was up there after Scott recommended them and I saw a mk2 with moified tunnel etc and the penny has finally dropped! I went there to see how it was going and they said it was picked up last week. They commented it was blue with a twin cam engine.
Looking at getting them to do my RS shell.
    Have sent you a PM.

this may be a stupid question but was just looking at the 4 link kit from smcka...auestion
how the hell do you get the 4 link brackets over the diff??
can't really see in your pics??

i assume you need to cut the front of the bracket??

also i take it the bars once setup are ment to run parallel when the car is at normal height??

    any help be great
    thanks

the brackets just slip over the tubes once the brakes and axles are removed.
the kit is a smcka one but im not sure if the brackets were modified
to fit the tubes or they were replaced with others that are made to fit. they dont appear to be cut at all for fitting.
i think once the shockers are in and the springs are reset to a
better ride hieght they should be more parallel.the ass sits fairly high in the air at the moment.
    hope that helps.
