Perth Sierra Cosworth
Right.
I thought I would post a couple of pics up of my 86 3dr Cossie just as a bit of a reminder of the progress she has undertaken
I found it on Ebay back in late 06. It was in South Australia and the previous owner told me it was imported in late 87 by Ford Australia and given to Tony Longhurst to drive around in when he wasn't racing a certain yellow Benson & Hedges RS500. I actually got a chance to ask Tony when he was here for Targa West a few year back and he confirmed this to be true.... Doesnt reall mean much. Maybe that my car was professionally thrashed by a professional race driver! Yay? [88]
When I got it it was a basic Stage 3 engine with a chip, Grp A coil, -31 actuator, Grp A head gasket, 3inch exhaust, filter, 3 bar MAP sensor and a crappy Turbosmart bleed valve. But still the standard T3 turbo.
Few pics the first day she got home.

Those Billies are for sale by the way...

Funny thing was as soon as I had it home, I had a million things on my shopping list that I wanted pretty much straight away. didn't take long for the wheels and suspension to get here.
Bought the wheels from a place called Performance Alloys in Ireland. Their website claimed (and still does!!) free international freight!! After long discussions with them trying to get out of this, yes I know Australia is a long way away, I did have to pay... $40AUD! and they were here in 3 days! Hahah! Still cant believe that one. The AVO's came from Demon Tweaks and arrived soon after the wheels.

Soon after that, the standard radiator decided it didn't want to play no more. After a fair bit of keyboard reseach I contacted Pro-Alloy in the UK and purchased a 50mm alloy motorsport radiator and while I was there, a dirty great big 60mm RS500 intercooler with 75mm pipes.
Also did installed a K&N pod filter around here.

The quality of these things is really something else. Its very hard to imagine the dude that welded these up not smiling and singing the whole time!! They are just awesome products. You get what you pay for in this game thats for sure.
Interior was next. Nice Sparco Corsa seats with custom fabricated mount by me. New gear know with short shifter and a custom stick and boot surround that i knocked up. And the suede wheel. Finding a boss kit was a royal pain in the ass. Came direct from Italy in the end. Also installed the electronic boost controller here too with a few Defi gauges. All slid in the dash real nice with a hours and a few beers.

A few other bits and pieces that have gone on along the way.
New Bosch 044 fuel pump and new filter. I rewired the whole fuel system at the same time. Well worth the effort. I saw another 1.3 volts at the pump afterwards!

Bought this little mc²racing alloy diff mount off Vic on here. (Cheers for digging this one out for me mate

)

A set of racing mirror I found on Ebay for a GTR. I made some custom mounint plates out of alloy and painted the lot up. Really happy with the way these came out.

When I got the new FMC RS plate s for it I went a bit over board[:I] There are 2 dimples on the rear panel that the plate fixes to... I got rifd of them! Haha. Plus the 4 or 5 holes that have jsut been bored into it to mount other plates. Bit of cutting and shutting. Welding up the holes and a lick paint. I remade the rear plate as a decal as stuck it directly to the panel. Dead straight finish. I think I repainted the front and rear bumpers around here too.

Around here is about when the clutch started to throw in the towel. I sourced a AP Racing 3 puck button clutch with a AP Racing cover plate out of the UK on Ebay and in they went. Only problem was, the night I dropped the gearbox out I had a few boys around and we were drinking a fair bit. Some smartass (.. Oh wait, I think it was me!) says why dont we ripp the engine out while we are here and paint the engine bay!! [xx(] The engine was out for about 3 months while I did a heap of other stuff in there aswell. It was a good chance to fix the broken exhaust studs in the head aswell. Painted the engine bay in the end and just a general touch up and polish in there. New set of Kent vernier wheels went on. Bought a few new engine sensors from Stu a Motorsport Developments in the UK. I designed up and had a 12mm pletnum spacer CNC'd up aswell. To be honest, I cant say this has made much difference. They say that you need to modify the throttle body elbow to see any gains out of this. It was jsut another chance for a shiny alloy bit to go on in the end I guess!! Haha.
Heres a few pics at various stages of the "clutch replacement"!! [(#)]

Heres a few pics from a few shows with the WA RS Owners club we did.

Thats pretty much it up till now really. Ive got a new set of front brakes Im sorting out to go on soon. Alcon 6pot monoblock calipers with 342mm rotors. Should stop on a dot!
Enjoy.
