Bits have returned from the powdercoaters. Got the two footrests and two centre consoles done. Next are the bumpers and rear light protectors. Put all the glass in bar the windscreen today. It's really starting to look like a car again. 2011-10-10 17.56 2011-10-10 17.56

Haven't slowed down by choice. Have spent the last three weeks working on renovating the bathroom. I'll be back at it next week as I have some unexpected time off.

Ok. It has slowed down. Might take another 6 months to get it up and running.

Bathroom is finished. Wiring loom is nearly there. Borrowing a nutsert tool soon to make it all look tidy. Got an Optima D34 battery for it. About to start on the brake lines. Problem is... that i'm working on car #2 in the aim of having it on the road in April. Bog standard 77 coupe with a 1.6 in it. Trying to do 2 cars at the same time is interesting. Tonight i'm beyond tired. Up at 5am for work then off to friendly mechanic to work on the 1.6 then home by 6.30pm then up again at stupid o clock in the morning and off to work.

A little progress on the car. Attacked the RS dash with a hole saw in order to make the new VDO speedo fit. Needed a new speedo as the cable drive output on the new gearbox is blanked off plus this will allow me to run with whatever size wheels and diff ratio and the speed will be correct. Also dug out one of the modified heads for the pinto. It's having the camshaft swapped out then it'll be installed on a spare modified bottom end. This is so i can get the car running and put the race engine together later on.

Modded two dash looms today to suit the RS dashes. Fun job figuring out what pin is what then removing and replugging them. Even more interesting was the loom in the L. Talk about basic. The loom for the dash doesn;t have the plug that every other loom i've seen has. Need to run a new wire to the coil to get the tacho to work. Things may get a little confusing for the next few posts as i'm combining two project cars on the one thread.

Spent an hour or so today on the white car with Puzzlescort putting in nutserts to hold the driving light steadies and the wiring loom clips on. Looks nice. I'll have to dig out the camera at some point to get some more pics. Also put the carbies on to the manifold with the new linkages.
