Are those seats factory Dave?
I have brought some seats out of a Mk1 Esky and they look identical to yours with the seat release handle half way up the backrest.
I'm hoping to get them recovered in black vinyl soon, if they turn out half as good as yours look i'll be a happy camper!
Man thats one nice car [:u]

Capri highback seats had he back release in 2 locations depending on the month, down the bottom or 3/4 of the way up the side, so either are correct

Guys,
Had to pull the engine and gearbox out on the weekend as I had little if no clutch. This is even after the clutch cable was adjusted as far a possible. Once clutch and pressure plate were removed clutch plate appeared to be in reasonable condition, however showing some signs of heat. Presssure plate had uneven wear across the fingers.
I am thinking that after years of sitting around pressure plate is stuffed.
Anyone got any ideas?.
PS seats are definitely original.

Hi Dave. It almost sounds like the clutch at one time was frozen to the plate and flywheel (as they do when not used for a long time) and then when the pedal was first actuated the bearing has bent the fingers before releasing off the frozen plate. I hope that makes sense? Anyway it sounds like all new clutch time. Unless you enjoy pulling gearboxs out several times? As for the seats yes it appears that ford fitted seats from the tc cortina as these are identical except for the tilt foward mechanism so Im thinking that they are specifically from the cortina tc 2door. Ive seen a few capris like this and they were built around dec71 thru to mid 72? What threw me was that my car was built with the older style seats just converted to high back and its a late 72 build so I just assumed that all capris had the same style of seat. The old style of seat is fixed to the floor whereas the tc style has two brackets welded to the floor crossbrace at the front of the seat. This also explains why when the floor of my car was painted in the body color it was stopped short of the crossbrace so that the seat brackets could be welded on (they were done by hand by someone in the factory that actually knew how to weld) then the crossbrace and brackets were painted black. My car never got the tc seats or the brackets so the crossbrace being painted black was mystifying, until recently. I hope this is fascinating to someone, anyone?

Yes Ive always liked the globes. I would stick with the 13s for myself but for the miserable lack of nice looking tyre sizes available now. 175/70 anyone?

Just found out that yokohama 205/60 by 13 is available. I have this size now and it will fit with no rubbing if the tops of the front guards are rolled. The look/proportions of this tyre is much better than the standard/original 175/70 by 13.

John,
Unfortunately the wheels aren't mine. We fitted to the vehicle as I was looking at purchasing. Haven't got the available funds at the moment as such Matt (Hotboosts) has them availbale for $1,100.00.
