I fitted it all together last week, bleed it twice and put new pads in.
WOW!! After taking it for a spin to bed the pads in I'm totally wrapped with the result.
The pedal feel is so much firmer and the stopping distance comparded to before is huge. [:u]

So - Did it just bolt onto the booster without modification?

Yeah more or less. Just had to put 2 different fittings on the 2 lines that go into the master cylinder.
The reason for the Rover SE2 reservoir is because the Land Rover one is too close to the bonnet, it holds heaps of fluid too.

I would recommend to anyone to do their home work first, especially when it comes to brakes!
If in doubt, talk to a Qualified brake expert first

Guys I have just fitted volvo 4 pot calipers to my Escort. I am using a Bias Pedal Box with Sierra calipers on the rear. I am having problems getting the brakes working properly. Does anyone know the correct method of bleeding the 4 pots. There are 3 bleed nipples on each of the volvo caliper, (1 each on the sierra). I have started at the furthest away calipers and bled in this order: Drivers Rear, Passengers Rear, Passengers Front,Drivers Front. Any help would be great. Cheers

I found doing the bleed valve on the outside that you have to take the wheel off to bleed seems to do it best. Don't know why.

Oh yes you have to do all the bleeds - there is no shortcut. Mind you mine are cross-drilled so that may be different to yours.

Get one of those one-person bleed kits for about $10 - they make it a lot easier.

Hi Avon, I was looking at the volvo forum and they recommend to bleed the 2 nipples on the side together first and then the top one last. I bled passenger side first, 2 bottom and then top and then the same on the drivers side and whoopee 200% improvement, got a perfect pedal now. Cheers

Good feedback guys,

I bleed mine: outside bottom, inside bottom, then top nipple.

I brought one of those bleed guns that you plug into your compressor air line and it sucks the fluid through, best tool in the shed!!

Becareful with the air operated bleeders as they still need to be gravity bled for a bit...
Top bleed nipple last.

Hi Daz,

I'm interested in the same master cylinder conversion you have done. I found a supplier for the master cylinder but am interested in a bit more info on the reservior you used. What is a Rover SE2 - is it an update of the SD1? Any clues on where to get one?
Also are you able to post a pic of the finished product?
How close did the landrover reservoir come to the bonnet? I was looking at modifying the booster mount bracket to reduce the angle a fraction (as per the Hoppers Stoppers kit) so that may mean I would get away with the landrover reservoir.
Thanks for posting this info too.

Cheers,

Steve.

Hi Steve,

Just google Rover SE2 and you'll see what model it is. I brought my reservior from Dave at Rovacentre for about $30 in good condition. He was quite helpfull and posts it anywhere. Ph 03 97822630
Ask for the rubbers too were the SE2 reservoir sits in the SE2 master cylinder

It looks like it holds more fluid and is better than having to modify brackets etc.
The Landrover reservoir doesn't hit the bonnet, it's very close but the angle it's on is too much. The SE2 one is better as it's angled to suit.

The botton is std Capri MS, the top is the Landrover MS with the SE2 reservoir

Thanks Daz - I will give Dave a call for the reservoir. I can see what you mean by the angle. Thanks for the reply.

Cheers,
Steve.
