MK2 2door.. my 1st car =p

iv got a mk2 escort for my 1st car currently bring it back 2 its former glory.. was hoping it wouldn't take so much effort
Its got a 2L pinto which is slowly dieing but i think all the rust is now gone which im happy about

it wont let me upload my pics [:(!] so wen i get back from work i'll giv it another go..

Im currently looking into either rebuilding a pinto with turbo power [:p] or putting in a SR20DET but im still not sure wat path to go down because my funds arent the best atm.. any advice would be grand

cheers

Sounds good, I had the same first car

You have to shrink the size of the photos down or alternatively use photobucket.com to host the photos for you and then you can put the links to it up here.

    Cheers,

    Damion.

the turbo pinto will be cheaper on average, but it depends how well you work the pinto to suit the turbo. if it looks like tis gonna cost any more than $3000 or so switch to SR20

Aha! I've been hoping this car would turn up on here. I've seen it getting around Greenwood... do you also have a yellow 4dr with Ghia alloys?

before i started my sr20det conversion, i looked at maybe building the 2L with fuel injection, a cossie, or the SR. and i decided that the massive amount of cars with SR20's, the ease of getting parts, the sheer number of parts available, the tuning knowledge in local shops, and the fact that the engine only stopped being made wen the s15 was canned, pushed the SR20det over the line. gonna be able to get parts for them for a long time. also i can do things like get parts cheap from over east, and know that theyll go in first time, be right, and can interchange with my mate who has S13 silvia.

wat was involved in putting the SR20DET in?
is it basically remove/change location of brake booster.. stronger g.box (modifieing trnas tunnel if required) and stronger rear axle (like a shortened hilix diff?) and engine mounts?

i dont no, cause my whole car pretty much is getting worked over. ive done pretty much everything i can think of besides paint and interior, and even that is getting a bit of work. best bet is to talk to Tony at ERR. hes done a lot of work on mine, and knows his poo poo.

That looks like a real Rally Pack Mk11. If it is and the numbers match, the smart thing to do is restore the body work to standard and do some mild tuning of the engine. They are getting pretty rare now.
