MRO - Escort mk1 SR20 turbo

Hello everyone

I have been lurking on the site for a while so thought i would showcase my car. It is a mark 1 escort that i have owned for about 12 years now and has been completed for about 6 years. Was a 75 1300 auto but now is fully rebuilt with Nissan sr20 turbo and 5 speed fitted. Falcon BW LSD with 3.9 gears. Adjustable height suspension up front with koni inserts and koni adjustable in the rear with reset leaf. Has bigger front swaybar and quick rack. 290mm disc cross drilled rotors and r33 skyline 4 spot calipers, willwood proportioning valve and custom underdash mastercylinder pedal box (probably easier to buy one!). All new rubbers and retrimmed interior with VDO gauges, toyota MR2 seats. Basically almost everything was replaced and renewed with a lot of help from family and fiends. Have competed in a few small events in WA and run 12.8 down the quarter.

THings to do still:

New pedal box with dual master cylinders.
Panhard rod at the rear.
new turbo
New strut tops and strut brace
new rims

Here is what the car looks like now

What a great stance - sits just right. Looks like you're running a few degrees of neg camber?

Actually I think the rims look good! Something different.

    Very nice car.

Thanks for the comments guys. I dont mind the wheels but thought i might try another style. They are 15x7. Undecided yet.

The car goes very will and i have got myself in trouble once or twice with wheelspin at 80km+.

I will post a few more pics tonight.

Great site - lots of useful info and everyone seems helpful.

what mods have been done to your engine to run a 12.8, and what turbo are you currently running? and what power are you making??

I am always keen for the drags - let me know when you are ready.

Only minimal mods so far: 3" exhaust, microtech ecu, t3 (no good) running 12 psi. With a proper turbo and tune i am sure it would run a low 12.

How far along is your build up?
