Matt's Mk2 2dr Escort

Hi guys, well I thought it was about time I put some pictures on of my mk2 2dr daily driver. I have owned it for a few years now & it has gone through a few changes. I think it is pretty much finished this time.

It runs a mild injected 2lt which turns a Sierra 5 speed. Suspension is made up of Koni Shocks & Lovells springs. Inside is a full RS interior. Wheels are 15x7 Performance superlights.

Cheers Matt

As a big fan of flat front 2 doors, I'd like to congratulate you on a stunning example.

    Everything looks great.
You cannot fault it from the pictures.
    Enjoy driving it.

    Nice.

What type / size tyres are you using and do you get guard rub? I have exactly the same rims and need tyres, just not 100% sure if I can get away with 205/50x15.

Nice job, love the wheels. Only thing missing is the genuine article steering wheel. I hope I can get my engine bay to look that neat.

    Well done.

    Regards,
    Craig.

Thanks Guys for all the positive comments. Its not a show car but its pretty tidy considering that its a daily driver & was painted over 10 years ago. Its a shame the photos turned out so large, not sure what happened there?

Avon, The tyres are 195/50R15. It doesn't scrub at all, but its not that low really & the suspension is pretty stiff. In the past I have always run 205's on 7 inch rims, but these rims were already fitted with tyres when I put them on the car. But it does make a big difference, heaps tighter/less tyre roll than with 205's. I have just had new tyres fitted to the front which are Goodyear F1's.

Sterling, I think you are referring to the swirl pot or surge tank. Most efi cars have a chamber inside the fuel tank where the fuel pick up is situated to stop fuel surge/the pump running dry so they don't require an external tank. In saying that most seriously tunned modern cars run a surge tank to make sure there is a perfect fuel supply to avoid destroying the engine. So as the escort fuel tank wasn't designed for an efi setup I have used this external tank which means unless the lift pump fails the main fuel pump always has a perfect supply of fuel.

Mark, I think the Cossie is going well? Its well over due for a drive, so is the Escort for that matter! All this nice cold air will be gone before it gets out of the shed at this rate!
