MK 2 240 Cortina 1500

Yet another project.

1967 MK2 2 door Cortina 240 with original 1500 engine. 73000 miles on the clock and the best thing was, it was free :)

It was about to go to the scrappers when my brother in law grabbed it for me. God bless him.

Has all the glassware etc. But is missing the drag link and steering column. But i will not complain.

Plan will be to go back to dead standard original.

Only update is that i filled a bloody big bin full of rubbish that came out of it[88]

Its a very straight car but it does come with rust. Have looked at replacement panels from Expressed panels UK and i can get everything i need. Engine is a 2731 block (last of the 1500's)73thou on the clock. Car is a UK variant and from what i have been told pretty rare as a 1500 240 here in Aust. Im glad we have saved it. It now has a home in the dry in my shed until summer when i can wheel it out and start playing. Intention is a dead stock car. Too unique to mess with.

Must give thanks to the guys in our club for coming forth with heaps of parts and general advise/information ready for a rebuild. Definately makes life easier. Thanks Guys

Camry aint mine. Photos were taken at my brother in laws in Port Macquarie. Its now in Newcastle in a warm little shed. Its in the garage place of our other 220 MK1 Corti which is currently on a rotisserie at the co owner/drivers house. We are preping that one for racing

    Bring on summer
