My new MK1 Escort

Have just bought a very nice MK1, no rust, 56000 miles and roadworthy, ready for reg(reg expired feb 08). Bought from son of original owner (lady in her Nineties) and was just too good to pass up. Took me about 15 hours to tidy it up (not bad as I have been working on my project for about 18 months). What do you think of it.

That is truly fantastic! Apart from those hubcaps of course, but that can be easily fixed. Excellent find by you, and a car well worth preserving. Get some baby oil onto those switches and interior plastics. They'll come up a treat.

Hi all, yes I think it was a good find, should be on the road within a couple of weeks. I intend keeping it till I get my project on the road then will possibly sell it, maybe. Engine is a 1300HC power house of power and as pics show I have not even cleaned it up as yet. As for the hub caps, original owner has the genuine caps somewhere and will hand them over as soon as he finds them, so I will either paint wheels and fit them or might later fit a nice set of wheels (superlite?? have a set just sitting there off my project car)

Excellent stuff. She's looking super neat now. And as long as you're not in a hurry to get anywhere, the 1300 autos are beaut. There should be more of them on the roads

My 2c, just leave it as is. Save the 2L for something else. Its too good an original car to mess with.
