Arched Mk1 Rebuild

Hi all,
This is a quick reintroduction.
I have been lurking about for to long feeding my Escort addiction and decided to get back into them again. I sold off my old MK1 project a couple of years ago and though I could survive! But alas I had to face reality and accept that I really needed another Esky.

Tried to get my old car back but no luck so I have grabbed this Mk1 from Queensland and shipped it way out west!!
Car is a 2dr MK1 with forrest arches in white .
First step is to strip it down fix some of the dodgy patching throw some paint in places put it back together and get it going.
Still tossing up on engines, I have a 1600 and was offered a 2L for free. A bit of rust in the floor/ boot and heater but thats not unusual for these cars. Some pics of my new baby!

13x7 Superlites in need of rubber

Chasing tinworm around the floorpan

rust in the boot concelealed with a bit of bog :(

getting the shell ready for the rotisserie, one of the few items I didn't discard!

heater dome looks good at a glance.

more of the old bog over the rust trick! will have to fix this properly :(

To do list
strip engine bay, clean and weld,
clean underneath, seam weld and paint
fix boot and floor
touch up the outside bits
stop looking for other faults!!

Thats all for now.

Emil

From memory that car was supposed to have the late floor pan, which would mean you could build a Mexico or RS2000 replica. I like the cross-flow better.
