Boy race it, till you crash it. then replace the roof from the roll over.
    Good luck with it

i was going to mount the rear of the car through the bumper but i have dummy fitted the jig and the Panel has quite a lot of flex just under the pressure i apply! dont know if i would trust the whole weight of the car!

yeah i dont think that will be a great place to mount it from might be a little sketchyy. alot of jigs that i have seen mount to the chassis so there will be no movement.

Yes, I came to the same conclusion that the bumper mounts were too weak to take the car although the Mk1's seem to fair better.

I mounted mine to the rear spring mounts and the front sway bar mounts in the chassis rails. Was rock solid and allowed 100% access to the shell.

I have since passed on the jig.......but I can supply some images if needed.

i haven't made up my mind on that one yet. having looked at past posts on the forum re-skinning it looks the best. quite a challenge though! and a trip to the wrecker. what would be a rough estimate of cost for a roof?

what's the paint code on the VIN plates?

If its original black its one of only 4 black RS2000's (2 2dr, 2 4dr) made in Australia!

    Might explain the dog tags.

re skin it buddy. unless ya can tig weld then it may be easier to just weld the hole up. using a mig will probably warp the roof alot.

    actually just reskin it.
