The last pic works for me - wheels and paint.
I too was a young hoon in the, uum, '80's. Still wonder how I got out alive with some of the fool things we used to do.

Still in the paint shop, I have to give them pics of the inside black paint, which I have now, and then they can do the outside. The garage is the hold up; that bunch of furniture you saw has been reduced by 50% by putting it back into the house. Can't do nothing until the bay is clear. Heres some shots of it in the paint booth, just had engine bay and door jams done. Download Attachment: P1000121.JPG185.59 KB Download Attachment: P1000122.JPG171.89 KB

Yup. Been here 2 weeks. All suspension out, front painted black and ready to go back in. Springs away getting re set. Gearbox and diff in for rebuild. Round headlights done this weekend. Dash cut ready for 6 dial dash. Brakes into shop next week for overhaul. Trying to source hoodlining - it has a white one with holes all over it and it is confusing the trim peeps. More pix on the website. How come I no see you as customer? [xx(]

Lookin good Smcka, I'm a fan of the black around the windows too.
what's involved in modding for the round lights and six dial dash, are there threads already covering this?

Dash is pretty easy - measure, cut and drill. Will chuck some pics up, but don't have any 'before' shots, sorry.
Lights. Now theres a thread and a bit. Spent 2.5 hours making up a blanking plate, and still not happy with result.
I decided to make up a plate to cover the existing square hole to make it neat. Using Mk 2 Cortina headlight buckets, for no other reason than I've wrecked about 3 of them and had some spare lights. Still need to get the park light do-dahs organised. I have some mark 2 Escort plugs whch have the park light globe holder to fit.
So I used a round light grille for guidance, cut a cardboard template and then cut a stainless sheet to fit that template. Needed to cut a small scallop out of the top and bottom of the headlight opening to fit the round light. Once it is finished I'll paint it matt black to match the front panel.
Good news is it looks like they can be reversed so both sides will be similar.

Try and get your hand on a set of Hillman Imp front indicator/park light assemblies, as that is what they used back in the day. They fit the holes with no mods to the size.

Yeah no, them things are ugly. Being fitted to an Imp didn't help either.
Just found some H4 inserts on feebay for 50 bucks with the park light provision. So all is good.
Ringwood Auto parts (nrap). Does good deals and good pricing too.
