Hehe , yes will make a point of slapping you with a "zetec" badge!! lol. All things going to plan I'll have the car running at Bathurst this year. Will be my first at the hill, and my first Aust championship since 1997 [:u]. I have run camshafts with built up lobes in the past (from Clive only, I wont use other grinders) with a 0% failure rate, even on the most radical profiles in all sorts of engines over long periods of time (eg: the one I had done for my laser was done 6 years ago, and its still fine now), so I am confident that these will be fine. I take it that you meant to get the shims hard chrome plated, not the bucket?? I have access to heaps of different brands and materials of shims through work, so I will make a point of getting the right material and finish right from the start. I have the solid buckets, but I haven't ordered the shims as yet, as I need to dummy assemble the head to get the sizes close before I order them. Cheers Woz

P.S. Are you heading down for Small Ford Sunday this year? Is Steven R. making the trip down this year? haven't spoken to him since Bathurst, he usually heads down every 2nd year,

I probably wont be at SFS as Geoff isn't coming down at the moment as he has a lot on his plate with the CNC's but as far as S.R. goes I don't know but I can find out What did you run in 97 as I was there at Mt Leura and came third or something to the VW's (was getting a rooster tail of rubber out of turn 2) because I had a fuel pump fail on Friday morning and had to drive back to Melbourne to get a spare so I got no dry practice and it kept on raining so I got left behind. That and I had Phil Morriss wanting to deck me in the line up after the finish line

I ran the car shown here (this topic) in Touring Cars under 2ltr. Then it was owned by a mates Dad. It was basically a standard 2ltr road car with half decent suspension, so 4 weeks before the Australia Champs me and my mate fitted some slicks (s/h formula 2) and decided we needed some more horsepower, so I dragged my old road going Pinto out of the shed (WR30 cam, big valve head, 45's etc etc.) re-ringed and bearinged it, recoed and freshened the head and bolted it into the car. There was a club round about 2 weeks before the Aust., so we ran it at that, won our class, but broke a top ring. Engine out again, fixed the problem and stuck it back together about a week before the event. Paul ran it on the Thursday with no hiccups, and I ran it on the Friday. We had double entered the car and it ran absolutely faultless for the whole weekend, won our class and set a record for the class (it still stands). It also did a couple of Victorian rounds after that and was pretty successfull. I remember your car there, its on the video I have. Here's some piccys of the car in 1997, Enjoy! Woz

Warren check your email You should come up the month before and do King Edward Park as well as it's a much better event and harder to get into and leave your car either at Bathurst or in Newcastle as there is a few guys we could con into it and then just drive home empty and shoot back as I'm thinking of doing it as I'm thinking of going to Melbourne in the middle Danny

Would love to Danny, but will have to see how the finances are travelling when the time comes. As you can see I have poured a few dollars into engine components and bodywork over the last few months. $$$, that will be the decider, and thank you for the offer, will keep you posted and send you the dvd when I get it done for you, Cheers Woz

Thanks Mal but as I said it's not an easy swap as there is a lot more modifying than meets the eye but Warrens should be fairly straight forward as you could just change the numbers around!!Hey Warren did anyone get any photo's of my poo poobox as I have nothing of it from then Danny

Hi All, Well I had the first outing in the car on the 23rd and 24th of Feb, the VHC round number 2. It was the cars first outing in about 8 years, first one in current format also. After finishing it in the early hours on the Friday night, and basically driving straight to the event, I finished 3rd in class, missing out on 2nd spot by 0.02sec . Overall pretty happy with the result, still on the standard engine, and very basic suspension package. *** Note: Last 2 photos are from Elgee pictures and words (Gary Hill) ANOTHER SMALL FORD FLYING THE FLAG!! THESE 2 are from ELGEE PICTURES AND WORDS (GARY HILL) Cheers Woz
