Went away for Christmas/NewYear so didn't get a lot done, however I got back last night and attacked the car today... Good way to work off the extra food and drink...[:o)]

After massaging the manual tunnel to fit the celica box, (it fit but was tight[:(!]) I wasn't really happy with the result... The floor and tunnel section was also a bit thin in places too so I decided switch to an auto tunnel

Helping Steve (Fordsy) dispose of his donor car with the trusty 9inch gave me all the rust repair sections I needed, with the added bonus of the tunnel..... So..

It is a work in progress.... And it is HUGE...

Before, manual tunnel MK1. (This has already seen a FBH so is bigger than standard)

After, auto tunnel from Mk1.

Need to finish welding and seam sealer.

Yep, sure was, all welded and sealed now. Bit of paint on top and some body deadner underneath and it'll look factory

Painted the engine bay today, and if I get the time tomorrow, I'll fit the NA motor for the final time. This will stay for reg and until I see an engineer[8~2])

Nigel,

Fingers are still crossed for SFS.. Might just make it, although I wont have the full respray done before hand. Will gave to wait until after for that..[8~2]

This is as it sits now. Front suspension all back in. Engine bay and wiring looms done. Engine refreshed and painted waiting to drop in, Still need to refit the interior after the tunnel work.

A fair bit of work to go, but to have it back on 4 wheels is nice.

Well, it didn't make SFS, but still managed to get a bit more done.
Fortunately the weather is a bit cooler now so I'm able to work on it again..

Had to play around with the celica box. After a lot of searching the net, and the wreckers, it apears there are a couple of different positions for the shifter housing. So managed to source a shorted one that meant I didn't have to chop the gearbox 'strengthener' bit. If you've fitted a sierra bix, you'll know what I mean...

Also changed to rear to a 3.9 lsd from an open 4.4, fitted the rear 2lt brakes, custom tailshaft and most of the interior.

Engine in,

My lowback (breaker) seats. I love them.... Suits the 'period' look I am after perfectly.

Now to tackle the dash, still to fit the 6dial dash and genuine twincam dials Also to fit the sterring column and wheel.

Still need a set of seatbelts, black carpet, rear brake connections that mount to the axle and a few other bits and pieces..

Still chugging along with this....

Few small things to go now, allthough they can be the most fiddly and timeconsuming. I'm on uni holidays atm so hopefully should get a fair go at it. This is as it stands...

Thanks guys,

Stevo,
T
he cast manifold with the draw through SU was an original garret unit. I sold it last year.
The sieera injection setup has a custom steampipe manifold. I will be using this on the car once I have passed rego and cleared it with the engineer.

Wade,

The fibrelass guards I bought from Geoff Wade. Check the forsale section. As will all fibreglas panels, dont expect a perfect as they have taken a bit of work to get to where they are.

Shea,

Thanks Mate. I like the lowbacks as well.. Opens the interior right up. I am now scrapping the green car so I have the custom interior from that with retrimmed RS seats, however the lowbacks suit the look I am after better.. It is wierd looking at it through the rear windo though as it looks like there are no seats... :)

Woohoo... It's on the road.... sorta.

Currently has un unregistered vehicle permit for the purposes of testing before RWC.

After 12 months I must say it brought a huge grin to the face hearing the webers roar during my Sunday morning testing.[88]

Have a small few things to finish before RWC.

Exhaust from diff back.
Speedo cable - celica to 6dial.
Temp guage not working.
Fit washer bottle.
Drivers side high beam.
Inner door handle bolts... Have no idea where they are? Cant match thread with anything I have....[x2x]
Make + install rear parcel shelf.

Thats about all of the main things.. Will leave a few for the inspectors to find so hopefully thet dont find too many others.

Shaun
