Baden you need an LSD as it was creeping a wheel through corners

Danny,
I got Geoff Gillespie to to an ATB for me - it's in there! I never thought I'd be lifting inside rear wheels, but it happened a few times this event. Perhaps I should have listened a little bit harder to what you had to say [:I].
I got my time for the hillclimb down to 71.75. Pretty happy, and there was more in it I just wasn't smooth enough.

You looked smooth enough but you really have to grab it by the scruff of the neck and go for it and carry as much corner speed as you can and while I think of it you could do with a shoter diff ratio Have you put an entry in fo Speed on Tweed Danny

I've put the entry in for SoT and there's another event called the Rallying of Classics that's being held at willowbank (5km tarmac stage) in late September. I'm running a 4.4 so yes there's room to move for hillclimbs and sprints. Is it easy to swap CW&P sets around (I only have the 1 lsd centre)?
I guess you must have been at the hillclimb. Did you have a good time? On the Thursday my best was a 73.15. On Friday I decided to carry 3rd gear through some of the faster tight corners and that put me into the 72s and then I gave it a bit more at that fastest point of the course (the long left where it dives into the really tight right) and that got me into the 71s. You're right about corner speed - I tend to keep a fair bit of margin for error when going around the bends - I guess that will improve with the more time I spend in it.

Great footage you were going great through there. Nothing wrong with leaving a bit of margin. Some people attack tarmac rallies like a race track, but as you know there ain't much run off. Seen some horrific crashes on tarmac events as I'm sure you have, makes you feel better about leaving some margin!

Changing the ratio is not that big of a deal as I do it quite often I was up at turn 10 with a friend to see the cars go through on Saturday morning as a friend was navigating in the 4 door 4dr Torana which stuffed his diff Saturday afternoon. I spose it was alright but I expected a better turn out as there wasn't many cars and not many quick ones as I expected Hoinvilles Mk1 to be quicker Baden you should run the hillclimb later in the year as there is a better turn out but don't expect the times to change that much as the car wont handle as well without the passenger as I'll be taking a couple for the HRCC and I should do a 63 with a passenger Danny

The Moy Pocket SS on the morning of the 3rd day. It was a ripper - very fast. We averaged 116 km/h and came 7th out of 26 classic cars. The bridge was described as follows in the pace notes:
Double caution. Deadly crest. 8 left on crest into 3 left downhill onto narrow bridge with no sides.
You can see that we slowed right down for that one!
