My 78 Mk2 Escort L
Since the loss of my MK1.... I had to have another escort came across a 78 Mk2 2 door 1600 its a base model L which is good has no trim holes, consol etc. car does have rego which is good. came with a 2L from a cortina at this stage engine has a big end bearing knock. While checking break pads noticed rust on the inner tub turned out the entire metel under the peddles was pitted and corroded have since replaced this with some new metel i made up to fit which has some wierd bends in it. Ive also got lots of stuff from my old 4 door mk2 going on this.. quick rack, new rear suspension, Bumperttes, rally pack bumper and spolier, Hella headlights and Cibbie spotlights. Body problems ive come accross are heater bubble(what's new), one c piller has some bubbles, rust where boot floor meets rear panel, under passenger side top A piller, both bottom of A pillers passenger side wheel arch dented and 1 inch bog..... so far sills look ok...all will be replaced with fresh metel thanks to an old mk1 bonnet i have hehe luckly ive got archs i cut out of bent front guards which will come in handy......... now should i keep it orignal SNOW WHITE (9) or change color........i was thinking steel blue...which is a factory color for the eskys are 4 door window regulators the same as 2 doors as when i wind up it seems to keep on winding....... pics to come shortly Download Attachment: mk2_1.JPG30.66 KB Download Attachment: mk2_2.JPG50.37 KB Download Attachment: mk2_3.JPG38.76 KB Download Attachment: mk2_4.JPG49.32 KB Download Attachment: mk2_5.JPG27.04 KB

I think you should go for the steel blue, it's a great colour and should look cool with a high gloss. [;^)]

started cutting out the panel between the radiator and front valance to knock out some dents...could have covered them with the front spoiler but..also might keep it stock front hehe going to make up a "frame" to bridge the gap and to strengthen it back up... rear wheel archs have no freaking rust but have slight dents...have to pop them as best i could using a cut down leaf spring...will scuplt with bog at least its to metel lol
Also need to make up a peice to fix the rusted lower drivers 1/4 panel...and my major job is the damm heater bubble. hope to finsh the body work asap so i can give the bugger a run on the rd...even in undercoat lol i miss it :(
body work is Drivers rear lower 1/4 and bottom bit of wheel tub Heater bubble front valance rear archs 1 c piller Might replace front passenger floor not to happy with my patch then rust killer all welds and cavaties and fish oil the beach!
also what is a good paint to put for floor pans and insides of sills if possible??

poor thing has been put onto the back burner till after January...Purchase a SLight rear 1/4 damage supra to fix up good thing is I get to brush up on my oxy welding skills and after janurary ill purchase as many rust panels....people have told me to sell the 2 door My thing is Id sell both my supra before I sell the escort its just running through my blood!
Body requires A pillar, Possibly both floors, heater bubble , bootfloor and driver rear1/4 most of it is done but since perfecting my welding I want to redo most of it!
