...I forgot to mention that there is apparently a different door card that came out on the later RS's that they can't do. Mine are the ones in plain black with the oval chrome strip. They also said the door cards would be ready before Xmas [V]

I got my GT Cortina dashtop done by dash original... as you say they are a pretty pricey ($440, but that included rebuilding all the foam as well) but they did a fantastic job and were a pleasure to deal with, would highly recommend them. Alastair

Hi Guys, I have recently spoken to Dash Original and they said that their Die for moulding the plastic has been damaged and they haven't repaired it because of lack of interest. Is there anyone else out there that would like them done? Maybe contact them. Maybe a few bogus calls to motivate them into fixing it would help! [:x)] Still looking for an alternative in Australia. Cheers

Ok, I have bought a mint set of English door trims in brown and vinyl sprayed them black. Best I have been able to come up with for 6 years. Looks great! Over trying to find new repro in Australia... [B)]

I gave up too. My brother was also chasing some for his XA Falcon. He send stuff & $ away but after 12 months got it back (hadn't even been started). A Trimmer I know reckons the science is in the chrome plastic strips (ie: getting them to stick and curve) and even the plastic welding guys can't get it done.
There was a firm in Sydney doing this (general consenous was anyone who advertised they could do repo door cards were just onsending to him). But he can't be relied upon or doesn't want to do them.
A couple of options - I saw that Aldridge in the UK are now doing these for Mk2's - I don't know if there are flat ones or have the curved top (couldn't pick that up from the pics). The pic I saw suggested they were not copies of what we have in Australia - I don't know if the UK ones were different.
Alternatively, there was someone in the UK making firbeglass moulds of the backing cards. Freight could be an issue/cost for something that might be a bit frail - you them have to get them re-trimmed here in Aust and then there is the issue of the chrome strips. All of this sounds mega expensive.

Deal with Aldridge UK at your own peril. They are unpleasant individuals.
They lied to me and took me for a row last year on AUD$2100 worth of beta cloth and over $600 worth of airfreight and GST costs. Despite ongoing emails and phone calls from me, and legal intervention, they refused to lift a finger. Key contact to totally avoid there is Simon.
I keet all documentation on permanent file.

I just proofed my last reply above after posting.
I actually said "They are b*st**ds"
The forum has interveined and autocorrected to "They are unpleasant individuals."
The correction words are not strong enough.

They come up GREAT Nathan! Those trims on Ebay have been coming and going over the past few months - has anyone bought or seen them in the flesh? Not sure but this mob look to be the same as the Ebay items http://www.classicbritishgerman.com.au/default.asp - as Phil said earlier they appear to be a POLYWELD product.
