i am thinking of restoring my interior back to its former glory, not that there is anything wrong with it now but i would prefer the original door trims.
i need the metal curvey bits though...what are the chances of me finding someone over in Sydney who has them, saves me finding them here in Perth and sending them there...anyone have any ideas??

I'm now in the process of fiber glassing the rolled edges and they shall be attached to a wooden backing board. I can't get through to this Polyweld guy so .... , his loss. I'm going to get them re-trimmed as close as possible but won't be able to match it exactly.

I will try as you said, It's frustrating that he is the only person I know of in OZ to do this work, I've been trying for over a year with phone calls and emails.

Guys,I recently spoke to a friend of Nick at Polyweld. He is still operating but is now concentrating on wholesale business. You can get trims from him,but you will need to order from Rare Spares or other similar retail suppliers I haven't seen any better reproducton trims anywhere, they are definately the way to go[:p]

Mate I am having no luck. The car is basically finished except for the door trims.
The trims never had a metal strip along the top, it was an all-one-peice fiberboard/cardboard/wood moulding. Everywhere, including Polyweld need a proper mould for the top of the trim.
Does anyone have a good door trim they want to sell? (preferably in W.A.) I may be able to take it to a plastics place and get them to entirely reproduce it, I may then be able to sell them! [%]

Hi don't know if you've had your door trims done yet. This mob in Adelaide look good. http://www.dashoriginal.com.au/ If you have finished them let us know how you've gone.

no the proper door trims dont have the metal strip but late cortina do so you could use the cortina metal strip and bond it to the escort trim it would work and get it trimmed to suit the esky

Wasn't there 2 sorts of door cards? - early model Mk 2's didn't have the metal curl - later ones did (something to do with how they bonded to the window rubber).
I've seen examples of both sets of door cards that came off orginal cars - that said the wrecker left the metal bit on the car for ones I was chasing - consequently I have a door card with an indent for where the Metal curl used to be[8~2].

What year/model Cortina? I'm chasing these for a 2 Door. Does the length match or is it reasonably close? Cortinas only came in 4 Door version after the Mk 2 didn't they (I could be wrong) - so is this an option for 4 Door Escorts only?[x2x]

I am also looking at restoring door cards for a 2 door Mk 2 RS. I've tried quite a few places with no luck including Polyweld. The Dash Board Doctor in Melbourne suggested I try Dash Original in Adelaide. They said they could redo my old door cards including the rear panels for $660 [8~2]. A lot of money but they seemed to know what they were talking about. Would be interest to hear from anyone who has had work done by these guys.
