JR, I've been overseas for some time, and couldn't believe the pictures when I logged on over the weekend now that I'm back home. From seeing that mess in the driveway some 18 months back, to see it in the shape it's in now is full credit to you. It's a wonderful transformation so far and I'm like many others and can't wait to see the finished product.

Best to fix the battery tray and others area's now while they are easy to get to. The B/tray can be taken off the car to fix,and the spot welds to the inner guard that hold it on can be replaced with small bolts.Other wise every time you open the bonnet your eyes will go straight to those area's, that would bug me big time.[:(!][:(!][:(!]

OMFG How close, How lucky

Migging up a bit of a tear in the RS floor from underneath, the body deadener on the inside caught fire. Big flames in a matter of seconds. The guy whose garage it's in had fire extinguishers close by grabbed one and put out the fire before it got hold. Only damage was a melted flap on the heater box, melted heater cotrol and some scorched wires, no body or paint damage, so close to a dream literally going up in smoke. Advice to all, GET A FIRE EXTINGUISHER, if this happened at my house I would have been stuffed.

Now apart from a minor setback (I have spare loom and heater) things are really progressing. All mechanicals are in, Bonnet goes on tomorrow, wheels are on, just needs glass and interior then all the sorting out, I have 6 days off as of Wednesday so I should get a whole heap done, I hope to be driving it in 2 weeks!!!!!!

It sounds like a luck escape JR, that body deadener can burn really quickly. A good tip on the fire extinquisher in the garage too, I reckon one in the car is also cheap insurance!

It sounds like you are on the home stretch now, keep those pics coming
