As you can see the main problem I have with down loading photo's is me, so when I sort it out you will find them in The Capri Show Room Area seeing this space is really for JR's resto.
Email me your postal address JR and I will send you a coolant label.

Got a call from the beater today, bettr come and take a look we're nearly finished he says. Last visit wasn't plesant, today though he has righted most of the wrongs, it's all in primer and has a trace coat. Floors done in sound deadener and all that I faulted was the front of the flares as they had the wrong contour, and the rhs lower guard to stonetray gap (loose and missing bolts and unclean leading edge making the gap wide and ugly. I'll have to put up with a bit more seam sealer than I would like around the triangular reinforcing plates as this seam really played up, the battery tray is a bit wavy but it was quite bad.

All the swinging panels are prepped and I got my pair of GT mirrors in the post yesterday. I found the original colour formulation and am having it mixed, we are going acrylic as opposed to 2pak. Suddenly things are moving and the light at the end of the tunnel just got a little brighter!!!!

I personally think you have made a wise decision on your paint selection to keep the original factory appearance. 2pac paint looks good on Modern cars,HotRods and Show cars but has too much of a plastic look for Classic cars, some people would disagree. Most paint shops don't use acrylic now because it requirers more preparation then you have to colour sand and buff to get a good shine.

GOT MY TRIPLES TODAY

a factory triple 42 DCNF weber set up, the whole shebang, linkages trupets, even an air cleaner. I cannot wait to get this on the RS when it's painted

Mirrors arrived the other day, I thought I ordered XA-B type, they sent me cast alloy XY GTHO type, got to be happy with that

Bought the paint, found the actual listing for the RS3100 colours, which I can hopefully photocopy and store away. The car has no colour code on the Aust comp plate and the UK code is not valid here. In the '75 Ford book there is a list by name of colours without a code, and low and behold "Olympic Blue" is right there. White base some blue and some blue/green and voila, lovely baby blue capri. I had a sudden urge to see if "Marine Blue" was there as this is my favourite RS colour, but then colour changing a classic.....

Hey JR, Great to hear of the substantial resto progress. And triples no less! Debut this summer?

Re paint codes; when I bought touch-up paint recently I found that M4 Modena Green was an exact match for my car using 75 Ford Euro codes.

Good luck and catch up soon.

Back in the seventies my esky twink was finished in "ice blue" and then I thought it was a consolation color because what I really wanted was the hot orange. Looking back now tho I think the ice blue was pretty cool.(excuse the pun). So now I think if its original then thats cool too. I cant wait to see the triples also, Im not fond of the goats horns setup, other than the double triples of john mc.

You did say spoiler and mirrors are painted Blue, is that the primer colour for the top coat Satin Black?
