hey all i just saw this pic while doing a photo search on google, this colour might be the one that i am thinking of putting on my car, i was thinking of also doing the black escort stripe up the side to give it a bit more oomph!

what you think aout the colour?

I think its green. That stripe should be good give more oomph - I'd reckon its good for 15kw at the rear wheels.

Seriously though, I don't mind that colour & the stripe. The colour makes the car stand out & will draw attention

    hey all,

when the money is flowing, its easy to get work done. a coouple of pics to show where i am at got the doors off and about to start on getting the motor and box out. i just got a second 1600 and spare gearbox off a guy doing a 2ltr conversion for $160, (he just came in off the street) the motor is out of a genuine 80,000 km car which i had the pleasure to look at, a little old lady owned it since new.very very schmick indeed and the guy got it for a bargain

anyways the spare motor is going to be rebuilt and toughened up, what can i do to the lil 1600 to get her going a bit better (not looking to blow away every car i see just enough power for some fun) i was thinking of getting the head done to unleaded specs, a bigger cam and valves, i got a set of extractors as well, and might get it bored out to a 1700?

also guys what type of carby set up will give me the best driveability and increased power a hard mix to find i know?

heres the pics of current stage

g'day, i have a 1600 which i am rebuilding, i put 1300 pistons 40 thou oversize (it increases the compression ratio), got a gt spec cam, minor ported head, skimmed head and block, sidedraft carbies, new valve springs, everything brand new pretty much, this atm has cost me around 800 bucks all up or about a grand

    hey guys,

just thought i would run an update on where i am at. the 4 door is currentll getting some cosmetic work done and the panel beater found a bit more rust then i had hoped for but with an escort i cant say i am entierly surprised. i had a look at it the other day and he is doing a very good job for the money. anyways i bought a 1980 escort pano the other day for a run about its being delivered this weekend.. its running a 2 litre 5sp sierra box and canary yellow so i am sure i wont go unnoticed.

here are some pics that show where its been in its journey -
