Marks MK 1 GT V6
Here are some photos of my diamond white 1970 V6. I didn't build it so I can take no credit for that, but I am a SFCC member and enjoy taking it to shows as often as I can. It was totally restored by the previous owner, it runs a supra turbo 5 speed and XBGT brakes. The motor was rebuilt but is very mild, with roller rockers an a mild cam. Carby is standard webber. Its been very reliable and drive it to work a few days a week, os its used often. I am thinking about doing the bonnet blackouts and after seeing SSTHIS, you could see why! Will post some engine pics soon. Hope the photos quality is OK as I had to resize to post them (thanks Phil). enjoy Download Attachment: 000_0179.JPG37.01 KB Download Attachment: 000_0182.JPG34.98 KB Download Attachment: 000_0183.JPG29.75 KB Download Attachment: 000_0184.JPG3.5 KB Download Attachment: 000_0185.JPG3.11 KB

Nice one. Gotta say, white is my fave colour for a Capri. Looks the business!

Excellent as always ...now we just need to get it to the dyno and see if it can be tuned to perfection. I bet there is more power to be found.[;^)]

thanks GTV6capri. That would be good. Thats the main reason why I haven't done it yet. I have been saying for 3 years that I am going to do it, so if I havd the pattern I would do it for sure.

I don't have to tell you its a great Capri you know that and the public comment on it at the shows. It's good to have you as a member too. I think the black outs will look good, it's a 70's thing. Good job

I love it. thats the first white V6 Ive seen apart from mine (it was probably the most common color but does anyone know how many white Capris were built?) and it looks perfect . ml what month is stamped on your compliance plate, mines November 1970, I wonder how far apart on the assembley line they were. I also have to agree on the blackouts it changes the look of the car whoever designed them got it right. For my bonnet blackouts I was able to take measurements off another original untouched Capri so mine is as per factory but I changed the side stripes to make them easier to apply. Cheers again for a great looking car

SSthis. Mine is 12/70,so they wouldn't have been too far apart on the production line! What is the actual black paint code that you used. Is it "GT Black"???
thanks for your comments

This is what it would look like. This is mine but it's head is on the chopping block to make room for the other cars. Hi Mark, Hi Guys. I build this car years ago and it looks pretty much like it did then. It was a labour a love that I dearly regreted having to sell after only putting 100km on it... Glad to see Mark's enjoying it, and stocked he's looking after it.
For what it's worth, he few things I wanted to do to really finish it off properly; The bonnet blackouts (but in gloss), the tailout blackouts, I could never find a good set of chrome trims to go around the back lights and get some grunt out of the engine- 10 years trying to find a reasonably priced tripple webber manifold before giving up! and if it was still mine I'd change the wheels...the rebels wern't brilliant in the clearance department and made the front a little heavy.( air con and power steer were also on the wishlist)
Glad to see it's still in good hands.
