SSTHIS,
Have to say, what a great looking car! I saw a pic of it some months ago and it is responsible for my current search for a Capri to build up as a V8 streeter. Do you have any larger pictures you could post or email? All of the pics I have seen of your car have been quite small.
Cheers,
Steve

muzzwaldo and hotboostgt I will send through an email in full size of the above photo and engine, interior and at the strip photos tommorow. I am unable to post full size on this forum for some reason. Also we have had a photo session and small story completed for a prominant car magazine and it will be appearing in the very near future. I will let everyone know as I have never had a car featured in a magazine before. I built the car primarily as an outlet for a bit of club motorsport fun but the rebuild/restoration seems to have turned out better than I expected and the reaction I get from people is incredible.

Nice capri, very nice.
I live in Adelaide and saw the same plates tonight on a what I assume was an XR6 turbo ute, big intercooler gave it all away. Could have been a V8 that had been turboed I guess. Either way, good cars and good plates.

An email has been sent to binalong and muzwaldo as I can not attach photos to the email message out of this forum, please bare with me as I learn computer stuff as I go. Hotboostgt you have no email address. Mk11 esky thanks for the comments? We had been sorting out some problems up till the Holden V Ford day (November) and have since got the car dialed in nicely (PB 11.66 ET in street trim) We will be attending the Nostogia Drags this weekend for a bit of fun and have entered our first full on drag meeting, the Western Nationals in a couple of weeks here in Perth. I do however prefer hillclimbs or regularity track events. In regards to the number plates I get alot of positive feedback from both Ford and Holden owners.

ssthis, just saw your feature in performance ford and it looks great. I only buy this mag if there is a good capri or escort feature as endless falcon v8s i find boring. Never mind your car makes up for that. What was the writer thinking when he was bagging out the v6 engine? As we all know there are plenty of people who love the v6 and not without just cause. Its not all about a 11sec. standing quarter time. Having said that it must be pretty good to have that much power in a capri. Also none of the classic lines have been spoiled by ugly protrusions(bonnet scoop etc.) Well done mate.[^]

Thanks for the compliments everyone I hadnt checked here for awhle so Ill update a few things. The gold GT stickon badges were a direct result of weight saving and I just didn't like the standard red GT badges at the end of gold stripes so they were put away in the shed. The radiator is a V8 Holden standard three core with Ford Mondeo twin thermo's, the biggest problem Ive heard of with owners of V8 Capris is overheating so I made sure I would never have any. This is the only area of the car that has been modified as I dropped the radiator down through the valance panel, (The complete radiator and fan setup can be removed in about 10 minutes)I have sat in heavy traffic on a 40 degree day with the temp gauge staying exactly where it should be.

I was wondering how long it would be before some one would ask about the engine specs, the heads are standard cast iron 351 windsor with mild porting and oversize valves nothing fancy but they are more than adequate at the moment, at some point in the future a set of alloy heads will be going on which should see a serious increase in horsepower and again a weight saving of 10- 20 kilos which should also drop the weight of the complete engine to less than an Essex V6. The bottom end of the engine was carefully thought out and has enabled us to acheive incredible torque through minor stroking, I really just wanted good power without having a highly stressed or high maintenance engine and being streetable was paramount more on this later.
