i wouldn't fancy blowing into a carb as you'll need some sort of control over the igntion so you'd might as well go efi ?? anyway good luck, i have lunched 1 apparently heavy duty excedy clutch that bad that i had no drive at all, it is something that i should of had done properly at race clutch i didn't have the $$ at the time so i compromised but worked out good using an original sachs rs2000 pressure plate (standard on uk rs's i think) with a normal pbr clutch plate, has beed holding up pretty good i suppose, clutch feels soft as anything and has more clamp then my previous one,

the engine started off n/a with a decked block etc 60 thou over.. head was shaved so i swapped it for a standard thickness head that was converted to unleaded just up rated the valve springs no port work at all and standard cam , then used a 2mm decompression plate with an acl mono torque gasket from memory compression is in the low 8's, i haven't had any issues there yet and it's set on around 18psi all the time ( it's been running since march this year ) on my own tune never been dyno'd touch wood , timing should be on the safe side though

Thanks for that, good to know the internals will hold up with just the decomp plate.

One more question, which engine management system are you running?

Thanks, Shaun.

yes it's suprising how they have held up so far, it's not ideal but it was my first attempt and the engine will be refined later.. i do have a collection of bits

management is megasquirt 2 v3 i think (sorry the model #'s escape me atm) with a diy wbo2 wideband o2

do you think you could get away with leaving the brake booster in place?or did you have to move it?

yea you can leave it, maybe not with the manifold on my engine, but i've got another that fit a t3 with the booster in place, the only reason mine is gone is it poo poo it self and it was cheaper to go a recon datsun on on the firewall allowed some extra room too
