Well done Ron! Five years sounds like a long time but it really is only an apprenticeship with the last year being the Masters part! If we haven't already been, we should all now be very enthused to get on with our own projects and see them through to the end result, just as you have. WOW, what a labour of love, well done again, Ron! Terry Walsh

Thanks Terry its nice to know that capri enthusiasts from all over Aus. and even the UK. have been keeping watch on the rebuild over the five years. Its not perfect but its certainly the best I could do this time, I have learn't heaps and I have already started on the next project, a 66 cortina gt lhd. 2 door. I want to thank all you guys that have helped me with advice and parts and encouragement it kept me going. I hope to be able to pass on all the tricks of trade that I learn't along the way. In future, I will post about all the ups and downs of capri ownership and driving adventures maybe it will be entertaining and helpful to some. Matt see you soon, Im just checking that all systems are go, getting a new mobile phone, fire extinguisher spares and tools I want to be ready for anything that classic motoring can throw at me, cheers Ron.

WOW, Ron your 'Special' looks well, er, special, keep up the great work and keep keeping us all informed! Which brings me to the next 'Special'.
FOUND, one more of the 12 specials, this one with the sido number 711291 another BSS in western Victoria and it is now resident in eastern Victoria with a local Capri Car Club member.
Lime Glaze and still registered and on the road, she needs a makeover which is well and truly planned for this 165bhp 'D' port Special.
Terry, down mexico way (ie. south of both borders!)!

Congratulations Ron! It's been fascinating watching the car take shape over the last few years and it's an absolute credit to you. Please post up some more pics of where when your out for your next drive. Cam

Couldnt help myself. I just ordered a new set of superlights 15 by 6. I already have a set of falken 195 by 50 to go on them. These have the same diameter as the original tyres. (175 by 13) and will fit under the front arches without any mods. Should look similar to Eric Banas "beast" except mine will be "Puppy dog".

Just the standard finish (platinum). I thought about going gold but maybe it would be a bit overdone and the wheels will probably see duty on other cars that I have so decided to not mess with them too much.

Yes I know exactly what your saying and I am sweating on the size bit. Pictures will tell the story, but it will be some weeks before I take delivery. Im keeping the rostyles too, for when Im feeling historical.

Just stuck them on one arvo because they were sitting there. I prefer the Rostyles though.
