Transit Truck w/2Lt V4 Supercharged

Guys,
This has to be the only one in existance ! My mate has recently completed a supercharger upgrade to his V4 Transit adding a 1GG Toyota type supercharger running 6psi of boost, its on boost as soon as you push the pedal to the metal and now goes up hills with a load on in top gear, so its greatly improved the drivablity.

It uses a "Suck-Thru" style setup with a 1"3/4 SU with a modified external fuel bowl, and a extension on the front of the superhcharger. The way it has been done allows for the dizzy/rocker covers/plugs to be removed whilst the supercharger is still in place.

It really is a work truck

Has a bit of a different sound at idle and I was riding around in it Tuesday and Wednesday so cant really comment on the note otherwise but it copes a lot better with the open road and hills, before it was like driving a 1300 Escort climbing hills you had to change down and headwinds could cost you 10kph on the open road.

Thats a very practical application of a blower, I dig it. Has it had much of an impact on fuel ecconomy?

Better economy actually as the car was at full throttle pretty much any speed over 70k so now he can back off and do the same speed, plus he has a fuel/air sensor in the cab and has it tuned spot on so its really been an improvement.

WHOOLIGAN - he has a spare but wont part with it as he's keeping it if he ever needs it for his transit either an upgrade or rebuild, funny story though he had driven the truck for 2 years and it had a bit of a knock in it, so even though everything seemed ok before he put the supercharger on he thought he should check it out and put some new bearings through, seems that whoever had rebuilt the motor previous had put the big end cap on the wrong way on one cylinder ! it had worn into an oval shape and thats what the knocking was !
