my 2door mk2 on 16's

hey all i thought i should share with you my escort its my first car

1979 mk2 escort 2 door

its got the 1600 in it, mild cam, 32/36 GT spec down draught webber, extractors, 2inch exhaust (extractors back) with 1 lukey muffler, advanced the timing a fair bit.
i got my extractors, inlet manifold, thermostat houseing, water pump, water pump pully wheel and crank pulley wheel HPC coated.

we put new moulded carpet in while it was all apart cus the original carpet was stuffed.

its got 16x7 superlites with the capri finish and nankang 205,40 r16s tyres

wen i first got it the people before did a dodgy respray the car was 3 different shades of yellow. but wen they sprayed it they only did the out side didn't do door sills, engine bay, boot so me and dad did the engine bay and boot. and then moisture bubles appeared throught the whole roof and on top of the front quarter Panels so i cracked the poo poos and attacked it with the electric sander so me and my old man sanded it back and did all the prep for the respray and it got sprayed in san miguel yellow 2 pac
the respray costed $600 from start to finish but the painter stuffed up and we had to sand it back lightly and i had to fork out another $200 for more paint and the booth but im pretty happy with the finished product for how much it costed.

fitted a jaycar central locking kit as well... its great

i knocked up a flase floor for my boot to level it out before there was jus a piece of carpet jus thrown over the boot floor and rapped the parcel tray in black vinyl and go it embroided

got it tuned and dynod the other day it made 60hp at the rear wheels and 290ftlb's of torque

the pics go over from wen i first bought it home to what it is today alot of work put into the beast. pretty happy considering its my first car

enjoy, matt

dont nock the hubcaps they looked mad as wen they were on cus it sat a bit lower with the hubcaps on and looked extremely tuff with 4 people in the car the guard would jus above the top of the hubcap [:x)]

Yeah. Your wallet will also be a lot emptier, so you'll be able to fit things in there too.

Same bottom end.use all the standard 2lt stuff.

Good luck finding a usable Cossie head. It's getting harder to find a crack free SOHC head-let alone a DOHC one with boost all it's life.

Remember-these engines are nearly 20 year old.

Worth every cent.
I would love to see the yellow MK2 beside Sean's red RS.

You need the Tensioner set up also with d DOHC Cossie.
