Aussie Mk 2 Cortina in Classic Ford UK!

Hi Guys,

Just a heads up.....we have another Aussie car in Classic Ford Mag! It's the green Mk 2 Cortina GT replica....errr 13B PP Rotary powered insanity machine!

It goes by the name of....ROTINA

I have the magazine...but no scanner, and the pictures are stunning. Please someone scan it in and post up ASAP. The car looks great...the 17inch Simmons look sensational against the green paint, and the writing in the story isn't half bad either[;^)]

Seriously good to see an 'OZ Style' as I have dubbed it (standard body, massive rims, hi tech motor...and the name pays homage to those cheeky aerobics chicks on in the morning[:x)]) from Australia showing the UK guys and girls some new tricks!

Hope you like it...now get scanning please

What month issue &/or what is on the cover, can't find the story in the issue my local newsagent has on the stand.

It's issue 112 Autumn 2006 and it's got RS Mania as the banner headline. There's a small picture of the Cortina (which is green with a gold stripe) on the front too. Sorry - I don't have a scanner. It's a good issue if you want to know about axles.

Interestingly....and a point I forgot to make....is that it is actually on the cover! Ok it is a small pic....but it is the first Australian Car to score a cover on Classic Ford! Super stuff.

All we need is the other two cars from this forum to get featured[;^)]

Maybe see a full front cover.....stranger things have happened!

Wow, I just checked and the latest issue that is still on the news stands here is 110 - two editions to go until I see this car.

Awesome stuff though, have seen a few Aussie beasts in the Classic Ford mag over the years, one that stands out is the Lotus Cortina dyno tune for more power thru exhaust changes and a service.

I know it doesn't compare, but my RS2000 engine is in the latest Street Fords (issue 16). Only a 4 page buildup story though.

Hey, I read that - it was a good piece. You must have a white Escort? The crack testing pictures were an eye opener. That mag is usually worth buying to catch the classic Fords drag racing. Is there a Mk1 Capri that's not tubbed yet?[(#)]

Yeah that engine went into my white RS2000, in the process of building up a much wilder engine for my rally car at the moment.

I know what you mean about tubbed Capris - but they look so good!

I will try to take some pics of the article with a camera...but last time I tried I fooked it up badly.

The Lotus Rlis mine as you all know, and has been pressed into daily duty...so the HP tuning search has been temporarily put on hold. I am keen to test aircleaners from Ford to find the best flower of grunt.

Stay tuned.....cause I'm planning a Carby Pinto vs EFI Pinto comparo on my car....real soon!

Cheers
