Weber Sidedraught 45's vs downdraught IDF 44's

I would be interested in what people's opinion is on the better application for warm Pinto..
Twin down or twin side?
I know the IDF 44's were standard equipment on European RS 2000's, but I've only ever had experience with twin sidedraught 45mm Dellortos.

I am considering either even IDF 48's.

IDF's are better for space if your engine bay is a bit cluttered but work just as well as sidedraughts ,though they are not as common as DCOE's and may be harder to source.   If you're thinking 48's you will need something a bit more than warm spec  for your pinto, the engine will be over fuelled.
