Hi guys sorry for the slow reply, I used a stock vl commodore automatic throttle body, reason for that is, the manual version only has a throttle position switch(on/off) where as the auto runs a genuine throttle position sensor(potentiometer) it measures 54mm, not that big but should be ok???
im just trying to add a couple of pics of the engine, trans tunnel etc,
I had a bit of a play and got the crank angle sensor sorted this morning
as far as the tunnel goes, I went a bit overboard, but you guys know how it is :)

also, can anyone give me their thoughts on best vernier cam gear to go for??

Most verniers do the same job and quality. I've used both Ally and steel verniers and both were fine, tho the Ally one from Rally Design (Kent Cams) did wear slightly but not enough to be a problem. Make sure you have a new tension pulley as well .
Nice setup there by the way ☺

Sorry for all the questions people but what alternators are people running on pintos, anything available with a little higher output

I've run a bosch Falcon XF alternator on my pinto for ages. . Very reliable and are or can be changed to higher amps.

Great project! Good to see another turbo pinto. Have you been over to the skogen racing forum? Loads of info on there for turbo pintos.
I use an XF Bosch alternator as well. You'll need an alloy RS bracket to fit one, the brackets can be difficult to get a hold of and will most likely need new bushes which are available from Mike @ Yesterford in Melbourne

After waiting way to long my pulleys finally arrived yesterday

Engine looks good, especially with alloy pulleys saves a bit of weight as well. My brother got some sets of custom made re-profiled ones made and added an undersized crank pulley from Esslinger as well so the water pump doesn't cavitate at revs. puts a nice finishing touch to the engine.
Cheers,

I am using a standard xf falcon alternator with the brown high out reg
or the other option would be xf falcon housings with commodore vn-vr internals

Not sure I should open this can of worms, but anyone care to give me their thoughts on exhaust size?

I've run both 2½ and 3 inch on my turbo Pintos boosting up to 21 PSI. Both systems followed the factory exhaust path (Mk2 Escort), the 2½ having only a muffler while the 3 inch had both muffler & rear baffle and there was no discernible difference in power or response/lag. The only issue was the incessant drone in the 3 inch system which made it near impossible to drive the car without getting a headache after half an hour.
My personal opinion. Never ever again will I go to a 3 inch exhaust. It's no gain for a lot of pain.

Not sure if I'm getting lazy but I sometimes think i should've gone a blow through setup rather than efi....
