The one that got away....

G'day all,
I've been on a bit of a self imposed ban from the internet for a few weeks after a bit of a let down on gumtree....
My second car was a 64 Cortina GT, it was bought to run around in while I was building my RS the first time. The Escort was almost done so I sold it on to afford a shiny set of RS alloys. I regretted it ever since and my old man still reminds me of the mistake....
It came up on gumtree a few weeks back, after 19 years of looking for it I found it 1 hour after listing... It was to no avail though, a collector from the eastern states had already snapped it up and was flying in the next day... If you had wanted to see a grown man cry, you would've on that day...
It was all good in the end, the guy that bought it off me and was selling it, passed on my number and I ended up getting to see the car again and had a good chat to the new owner. I'm happy it has gone to a very good home....
Onwards and upwards theres plenty more fish in the sea..... Drew..........

You have my sympathies, but at least you got some money for it..............about Fifteen years ago, I fully replaced the only rusty panels in a 1960 Mk1 Consul Cortina(the sills) that its only owner from new sold me, and converted the front drums to discs from another Cortina............The one night I didn't put on the "Club" St Lock, the lowlife ****s stole it from my old Ampol SS w/shop on Nepean Hwy Edithvale and never seen since.
Karma has prevailed, and given me this beautiful and v/rare GTV6 "wild plum" Capri !
