Hi new esky noob

Hey guys just thought I'd introduce myself and give a little background

Well lets say my blood runs nearly blue I have always had ford's falcon's esp's fairmont's you know the big 8's but always had a love of the small cars well now i have no space to do a project on a big car so thought perfect i'll build a mk1 esky always wanted to do a conversion not sure yet what engine ford or jap I did have early e30 bmw with a ca18det in it.

So if you see any noob questions please be patients as I have limited knowledge of these beasts but really wanna get into the scene.

Regards Boza

Welcome mate,

Pretty sure your questions won't be as dumb as some of mine!!
What are the plans for the car?

Cheers,

Matt

I really love the mexico so was going to do a replica as you don't see any around modern runing gear like a zetec or duratec or maybe even a jap engine I really love the sound of the euro 4's and there a good base for modding plus there's a heap of conversion kits around that bolt straight in so not much mucking around needed.

heaps of suspension mods to stiffen her up and a cage as I'm going to wanna do some racing track days maybe some club level stuff hillclimbs etc...

I was toying with the idea of a lexus v8 but think I'll stick with the four banger as I want the car nice and agile and no too front heavy

that's about it for now

Sounds like a good plan.

Have a chat to an engineer before you start on the project as then you'll know what you can and can't do legally to avoid any dramas down the track.

Cheers

Yeah that's the first thing I'll do I have seen theese motors in the bowell and elfin lotus 7 replicas might just buy the running gear from them if the engineer is happy with that will save heaps of hassle i think
