Just got a car from Melbourne
Just got a car from Melbourne and have to go to Lonsdale for a Vehicle Identity Inspection, just wondering if this is better than regency park. Car currently has Vic Rego, grateful for any advice cheers

I've been through Lonsdale for a defect and the inspector was very reasonable.
Identity checks are much easier though.

I have been to regency with my RS and the missus Kombi for an identity check and there was some helpful guys there and I got through no probs.
Just make sure the car is clean and tidy, that your lights are working and there is not excessive oil everywhere or anything that screams, defect me for bald tyres, they have the option to send you over the pits if they dont like what they see. If your windows are tinted, they will do a light test on them and potentially send you out into the car park to remove any tint off the drivers and front passenger windows if they are too dark.
Don't know if you did it when you brought it, but double check that your chassis no matches the plate and is easily readable and that the engine no matches the rego and again is easily readable.
As an observer while waiting, it was funny seeing how all the guys who seemed to have an attitude got the same back from the inspectors, I suppose that is karma working.

Took one of my old cortinas I got from Vic - drove it stright from the truck yard to regency. The only problems they had was they/we couldnt find the engine number so i had to go off & pressure clean the engine bay & took it straight back. Bloke decided coz it was old (mk2) that he would put it up on the hoist which then got me nervous as i hadnt even looked under the car but all ok despite having sills & floors with holes........ So yeah just be preapred that may wanna look under the car due to age.
Inspectors ive had were all good no dramas same with my current Mk1 esky which went thru in undercoat & battery in the boot.
