where there really 12 factory made convertibles?

As far as I am aware, there were 0 factory convertible RS2000's... and probably any Australian built Escort's, for that matter.

Yeah certainly news to me.  Factory might just mean the roof was hacked off in some guys factory but i would seriously doubt that this left the Ford factory without its lid on.
