nice one, i still cant wrap my head around how the window cracked, i mean what are the odds of a rock flying through such a small space!

my happy things for today are 2:

- stephen came round and we pulled the auto out of his TC, found the rattle to just be loose rivet type things that hold the ring gear to the flex/drive plate. cheap to repair.

- afterwards went for a swim in the pool, soo nice, cracked a cold tooheys extra dry and the rest of the evening took care of itself!

I do remember you asking me what you should do, i am glad it's working out.

I know it's not good to laugh at other peoples misfortune.
But.
I had to laugh at the Jet ski that was slowly falling off the back of it's trailer down the M1 today.
I stopped laughing when it hit the road and was still being towed unknown to the blind driver. Fiberglass splinters and shavings everywhere like a smoke screen type stuff.

Seeing a white late model Commodore (VE/VZ) with 'MFP' (Main Force Patrol) plastered over it. Nice gold embossed badges on the front guards to replicate something from 'Mad Max 1'. If your going to do that you should start with a Yellow XB Falcon.

[88][88][88]gave me a laugh until i read this bit,

People will stare, some will even want to touch it, some may be jealous. But like fame, after a while you get used to it (apparently). The best thing I've found for avoiding attention when driving this beast around, is to park next to a car with similar formidable characteristics, like a Daihatsu Charade.[8~2]

3cyl power, on 15" rims, better than a lilac 121 on 13's

Just went down and bought the magazine. I bought 2 copys as my missus wanted one. I gave her a copy then when I opened my copy I found out its missing 10 pages from page 34 thru to page 44 and my car is on page 39. Spewing big time. Anyways the issue has both Small ford Sunday and Hanging rock car show in it, my car is featured in the Small Ford Sunday section and says that it won best mk2 however, this isn't the case as the 'Buffy' mk2 won (beat me by 2 points). My scanner doesn't want to play the game so I'm not able to scan it up for you lot.

After 2 and half months at the mechanics, my RS is coming home today with decent oil pressure. The pressure wasn't terminal to the engine, but it turned out to be a crack in the oil pickup which kept it on the low side. I will remember next time when I say "yeh, take your time, it's not my daily driver". It has taught me patience, but he'll also look after me cost wise as he has fitted it in between other jobs.

this made a few of us happy

my boss found out i was into Escorts and he said he would be happy to give this to a good home,he had it in the back yard for over 21 years so i let a good mate that is very capable of getting it to speed take it on, once home worked out its a 1300 gt 1970, weird thing is it has super badges on the front quarters, and chrome trim all way round the wheel arches,

everything was there dash console engine ect... only issue we had was finding the engine no on the block. we thought it would be near plug one and 2 but it wasn't there can anyone help? this will be very helpfull in getting it registerd

but overall quite a good barn find and considering all the time it has spent on the weather the shell has no holes it is all mainly surface rust

well today i took my radiator to the radiator workshop around the corner from my work (they are off watt road, in mornington)

$95, to have it "serviced" his word was "we'll pull it apart, clear out the tank tubes and the cores, (high pressure backflush i assume?) and seal it all back together"

since i just got my tax return i didn't mind paying that at all, and ive know gone from driving no more than 30 minutes or so, engine sitting at about 90degrees, creeps up with hard driving or highway driving,

to a happy engine sitting at 60 degrees!!! i drove it for almost an hour and it never went about 67-68degrees! couldnt be happier!

Olympus cameras go very nicely, I've had an E-500 for a few years now. The E-3 was the only camera out of the Olympus range that had features that I wanted.

I repaired some holes in a Rental house earlier this week.
The tennant punched the villa board thinking it was plaster and hurt his hand.

I recieved a call about the walls being repaired in the wrong material.

This bloke tried to smash me with the one good hand he had, when i showed up.

So, i have one very happy home owner. And a bloke with some issues wanting my head on a plate.
Yes, i did go to the Police and reported it, just in case i go missing.

Got the Air Conditioning compressor on the car today. I had all the ingredients, but they wouldn't come together - outcome would have been a custom made bracket (compressor would have been dragging on he ground), drop the twin carbs, drop the air con or get a smaller compressor - the later was the winner.

The rebuild has been at a bit of a stalemate for most of this year, until this was sorted. A few bits & pieces to tidy up and the rebuild should be on the home straight ($ & time permitting)

Going through the getting 120hrs up for Ls with my daughter at the moment.Up until resiliently shes been happy driving my VS Ute but now decided she wants to drive a manual & the only one we have is the RS which up until now she's described as being old, smelly, noisy, ugly,& generally just not very nice.
So after a couple of lessons in an instructors car so she didn't completely destroy the clutch & a little talk to explain how hard the nose would be to replace if we hit anything (that she seemed to take in quite well) we started about 4 weeks Ugo.
Today we passed another L plater going the opposite direction in a new Rav4 or something similar & I said what would you rather be driving this or that? She said this car Dad, it's fun! But if you tell anyone that I'll deny it!

When my son started to drive I tried to get his manual driving skills up and took him to the back streets in the hope he wouldn't have to think (or brake) too quickly. I later (reluctanctly) threw him the keys when he finished work 1 day and he couldn't take off at the lights without stalling - 3 changes of lights later we ran around the car to swap positions. That was the last time he drove my car - short of trying to take it out 1 night when we were away for the night (unbeknown to him I'd removed the rotor button). Car didn't leave the garage but everything was in a different position - he denied trying to take it out but fessed up when I highlighted the evidence.

Driving the car to work today and get the following comments (with thumbs up from neighbouring car) at traffic lights or the servo.

- What year were they made - I know it was a while ago

- Is it genuine? I remember getting passed by one of these years ago when I was doing 140kph and it left me for dead.

That is why you drive an Escort. Owners of Toyota Echo's don't get those comments

Kizza, 2 words, take it.
Try working 5 weeks on 5 weeks off. My family and i are well and truly used to it, never easy going back to work though. But it's what keeps the money comin in. You'll get used to it and it gives you and the missus time apart and as they say absense makes the heart grow fonder.
