What has made you angry today?

Just thought i'd start a thread for everyone to vent in, as some of the topics lately have become somewhat heated. So tell us, what is it that has made you angry today?

Mine is the knob who had his highbeams on whilst driving the otherway then dipped them but again turned them back on a few seconds early just to sh!t me.

Mine was a Trust Deed that was prepared by one lawyer, checked by another lawyer then given to me to send to my clients was wrong. They had a dead person signing it, but yet I look like the dip poo poo because I sent it... yay

Stupid warm weather woke me up at 10am instead of my normal 11am.

Also, my next day off isn't until the 1st of January. That's 17 days straight.

... and wasting my time by trying to use a second hand wing instead of just buying a new one.

There. I feel much better now.

about a week ago, i had to take two days off work due to being ill, so i was all better for about a week, and now i think im coming down with something else, everything i eat makes my stomach hurt.. ahhhh

i am a reasonably healthy person! i hate my luck lol

but yeah may have to take another day or so off work, which is bad when youve noticed, your boss goes through employees "snaps fingers" like that.

That's an easy one....

Government (over)regulation.

There seems to be a law against everything these days.

Our freedom is truly being diminished.

In the old days in the 1980's we drove fast cars very fast, we ate fast food even faster, we had competitions who could use the most amount of fuel (petrol), we could buy lot's of firecrackers, sky rockets, parachutes, and bungers, thunders, and had big bon fires on the Queens birthday Sunday night which we really looked forward to each year, we got sunburnt (to a crisp)(regularly) and would have fun peeling the blisterd skin off a few days later, we could run a hose day and night and waste lot's of water, we had fun "going for a drive around the block" (from western Sydney to Newcastle then south over the Sydney Harbour Bridge to Woolongong and back home), a few times we drove from home (in western Sydney) to Melbourne just to buy a hamburger and chips, then turn around and drive home, police were often considered approachable and called friends, McDonalds was healthy food, beer was considered water (hence healthy), sun tans were considered healthy (especially if you used tanning oils to darken your tan even further), you could road test the latest mods to your RS2000 by cruising the F4 (now the M4 Motorway in western Sydney) at +220kmph at 3am on a cold winters morning with Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water playing at full volume, you could go to disco's and there was no fear of drugs or being drugged or bashed, fights were played by the rules and were a fair competition, petrol had lead in it, there was only leaded CocaCola (no diet Coke), AIDS had not been invented, mobile phones had not been *invented, hell the fax machine had not been *invented! (*really not released enmasse), country roads still had windy bends in them (not boring freeways), you could leave your front and back doors open and unlocked while you were asleep or up at the shop, a gaytime was a paddle pop covered with bread crumbs, a cherry ripe tasted like one, there was no such things as carjackings, or home invasions, music had meaning and had a story, you could take your car to the local mechanic to fix (not forced to the dealer), the nice man would come and fill you petrol tank with fuel while you watched (before self serve) and he would check your oil and water if you asked, to get my motor bike licence I was simply told by the country policemen to go the the post office and pick up the police mail for the day, to get my car licence I was told to take the police paper waste bin to the local tip (on each occasion the licence was typed and prepped ready for me when I returned - no questions, people would always say hello, people were usually very happy and sincere, meat pies had meat in them, television was actually entertaining and very little violence, Australia actually made things - no such thing as Made In China, Made in Japan was considered "Jap Junk", Made in Taiwan had not yet been invented, most engines had eight cylinders, most cars were made in Australia by Australians, the Hardie Ferrodo Bathurst Car race was entertaining, food had flavour and only a few preservatives, everyone had a job, if he didn't like that job he would leave and start another a few days later just down the road, a speed camera was something you took photos of trees with while cruising at 100 mph....

And guess what, despite all the things we did, we did live through it all. Always the wiser with more knowledge for the experience, and we managed rarely to hurt ourselves, and we never hurt anyone else.

A new forum has been created for Admin/Mods in which "controversial" threads can be moved for discussion before they are either re-released back into the wild or deleted if so required. The forum will also be used for general discussions about the administration of the forum as a whole.

There is nothing sinister going on in there and it should no longer be visible to general forum members anyway.

I can beat that - dropped mine off in May last year and its still not started. It will the the last thing needed to finish my car. I've only given him part of the work and in order to motivate him to take it further flag the other stuff I want done (also dropped the idea that my brother needs work for his resto to). Being told by my 'new' roadworthy guy that my BRAND NEW (less than a week) and travelled all of about 2 klms was barely passable!!!! What is it with RWC testers and their fetish for replacing perfectly good, and in this case BRAND SPANKING NEW windscreens??????

Under Vicroads, you ARE ALLOWED to have scratches and even chips, within the swept area, (not that it had ANY) provided they are not a certain depth/length and dont impeed vision...

Needless to say I wasn't too impressed at even the suggestion that I almost had to replace it....[}:)][}:)][}:)]

What has made me angry today! Long story up until now but it's actually been going on for 5 months now, in the processes of trying to get my money out of dodgy bosses at my old job. Fair Work Australia are doing the job for me now, but it is sooo frustrating. Once i finally have what is owed to me i have to send complaints into the ATO about them not paying taxes right and non paid superannuation for 3 quarters, and the fact that they have tarnished my name by accusing me of theft, when the footage from cctv clearly shows them planting the item, which was confirmed by the police. Mind you by the end of all this financially this wont help anyway as i have to pay for the solicitors, but as long as it helps other employees.

So now i'm finally getting somewhere with Fair Work Aust. and my solicitors time for me to tarnish their name and say to all Classic Ford Members DO NOT SHOP at Autobarn in Albion Park because they are the scum of the earth.
There we go, finally got that off my chest

Split a brake line in the Escort.....Bugger

Mechanic fixed that, then looked to rectify the subliminal noise coming from the motor at low revs (sounded like a loose bracket or something similar). Seems the alternator is about to let go (internal clunking noises) and the water pump is trying to emit spark.

This will be my 4th (possibly 5th) new alternator that I've had on my Escort(s) in the last 6 + Yrs. Not happy Jan.

Some utter knob left a boat trailer half on the road, with no boat on it and not hitched to a car. Coz i was driving up a hill looking straight into the sun i couldn't see it. I had my brother and my 2 boys in the car so was only doin about 25 kmh but still enough to damage my poor corty.
Need a bumper, indicator lense, guard and chrome arch strip. I'll get around to it though.
Apparently "by law" he can park it there, but where's the courtesy. The block it was 'half on' was vacant, and his whole driveway, across the road, was empty.

bought a diff for my wagon cos old one was stuffed.
put new one in, drove around the block, and found that rear wheel bearing was wrecked.
just pulled axle out and took old bearing off, and then thought id smash the bearing outer out of the diff tube, but what i just realised is that the outer bearing case was non existant and what i was hitting was not the bearing shell but the diff tube, rendering the diff fuucked and me a stupid fck wit. While ago i had my Escort in at Redcliffe Dyno for a tune.
When i arrived the next day to see what was happening, the car was jacked up at the front.
(owner)Steve said the front caliper was sticking.
The RDP MK2 Cortina Drag car was beside it jacked up the same from the front.

Today i pulled my calipers off the struts and find i have one with 72 stamped on the back and is missing the G stamped in the front face.

Same size calipers, but it's not the point. the car was in for a engine tune not a caliper swap.

I just love statistics!

Re the forum topics:
"What made you happy today?" and
"What made you angry today?"

Just proves that we on the forum are statistically a friendly but angry bunch!

Why??

At the moment there are:
"Angry" there are 100 replies, with 2715 read the topic; however
"Happy" there are only 91 replies, with 2058 read the topic.

But maybe there is more motivation to read and reply when angry than when happy.

But I am happy, even though I am replying on the angry thread....

heres what's been pissing me off,

it begins with me getting my liscence,

then my starter relay sh*ts itself

then my thermostat seizes, boiling coolant on the side of the road.

then my battery keeps dying overnight,

then my bush inside the standard shifter shatters,

then i throw my keys in the boot and close it (my fault)

then the little clip on the pedal end of the throttle cable falls off, i re attach, it "PING"'s off again, then when i go to reconnect it the third time, i cant find the damn thing on my floor, have to use the engine side clip, and walk the car home begging the engine side of the cable doesnt fall off due to lack of clip.

can somebody tell me why i am still putting up with my escort??!!??

kevin rudd getting $600,000 a year from now until he carks it.hes roughly 50 yrs old, which means under normal life expectancy, he will be around for another 25 to 30 years, this equates to him earning between 15 to 18 million dollars for doing jack poo poo, and guess who is footing the bill??hes just one, multiply that by the number of pollies that retire every year, allowing for a lesser pension for not being pm. its not rocket science to see where all our hard earned is going.no wonder there no money in the kitty for public transport, roads etc. thats why we spend an hour or two stuck in traffic every day travelling to and from work .and the icing on the cake is they give themselves a payrise every year, undisputed by the"opposition" as they get the same payrise.its a freakken joke!no wonder there are so many people out there selling drugs!

Over the past several years, I, as well as several of my friends have been considering various options to do something about the politician's rorts, Australia being sold out to the US and China, and many other difficulties facing our country.

We have some interesting ideas, however they all require people power, ie that a majority of people to act as a country.

We know the ideas will fail if the majority of people don't act.

Unfortunately the majority of Australians are very well brain washed by the powerful state run (US owned) media services.

Most of the little people (ie us) all know that there is something terribly wrong.

The way things are going the future will be terribly bleak for most of us as our freedoms are slowly eroded, prices will continually increase. Just fortunately, for the moment anyway, food and fuel is relatively cheap. In the future this will change most probably due to a major world "event".

Very soon multinational overseas owned companies will own all of the various companies producing and distributing our food in Australia. If this doesn't get the hairs on the back of your neck standing on end maybe have a bit more of a think about it.

I disagree with the notion that they are criminals. They are not. They take advantage of what is the law. Easy for them to do that because they make the law. They are much the same as boards of directors of large corporations who give themselves generous pay packages and bonuses, despite the protests of shareholders. If people are serious, remember that politicians are your elected representatives. Get up their noses on the subject through your local electorate office. Sounding off on this forum will be like have relieved yourself while wearing a wet suit. You'll get a nice warm feeling but no one will notice.

i wonder what these pollies would think if everyone stood together and refused to vote on polling day based on the fact that none of the unpleasant individuals are gonna fulfill the empty promises they use to get themselves elected.im a carpenter by trade, imagine if i was giving a price to a client to build his house with all of the inclusions he wants, i win the job,but cant finish the house because my budget hasnt allowed for all he asked for. i am compelled to finish that house as described in my contract, even if it means i go broke over it.i have to honor the contract. why then doesnt the same law apply to politicans? they promise the moon and the stars and once elected put the promises in the 'too hard'basket!im glad to see the response that this topic has created though. its not just me that is so disillusioned with the whole system of politics in Australia.and also, why oh why do we need seperate state governments for a country with such a small population by world standards?ok, im gonna have a beer now![x2x]

The political system sucks at a local level because who I have to vote for locally may be the most appropriate person for my local electorate, but unless his boss gets voted in very little money makes its way back to my area.

The system comes down to who is the most popular, not who is best for the job. 9 times out of 10 you have no idea what the credentials of the alternate person is as they have popped up at the 12th hour.

Donkey vote wins again

Its a figure of speech (They are criminals) and basically they are you are forced to vote other wise face a fine ..and voting for the ones you think are right for your area doesn't make it any easier because like others have said they promise all and deliver none...!
2010/02/07 18:59:09
PeterM
"you are forced to vote other wise face a fine"

There is absolutely NO law in Australia that forces YOU to vote, otherwise you face a fine. The political system makes you BELIEVE that you must vote. It is a lie that the pollies want you to believe!

In Australia the law forces you to have your name marked off the voting list on voting day to say that you attended the polling booth. International laws (and laws here in the penal colonies) say that you vote anonymously, that is why your name does not appear on the ballot papers and is not tracable back to you once you place your vote.

On voting day all I ever do is to front the election assistant, state my name, I witness that they have correctly ruled off my name and address, I accept the ballot papers. I then proceed directly to the ballot box, as I appoach I tear up the ballot papers into as many little pieces as I possibly can and make as much noise as I can, and toss them onto the floor near the ballot box. Often people clap and acknowledge me when I do this.

I have never been fined or questioned by doing this. No one has any power to stop me from doing this.

2010/02/07 19:20:53
loomer
That's what I mean you are forced to go to a polling booth and sign your name off if you have registered your name on the voting roll form if you just write some crap on the voting form the vote will automatically go to the party in power just remember this people not many are aware of this rule ....

Hello Loomer,

Agreed - if the ballot paper is placed into the ballot box.

However if the ballot paper is destroyed and is not placed into the ballot box, the vote cannot be counted anywhere. The vote simply is not counted.

Have a cold shower and think about. If people did not take the trouble to vote what do you think we would end up with? This is a serious issue. Neither the Liberals or the Labor parties have covered themselves in glory. Ask yourself why that it. It is because most Australians are generally complacent. They generally support one of the major parties but don't monitor their performance. The Greens are next to useless; their focus is as narrow as a pencil light. All politicians have their snouts in the trough. You don't hear the minor party members of Parliament saying "I'm not going to accept the payrise". Rarely, if ever, has a Parliamentarian's payrise been voted down, only delayed. The only way people will get the message out there is through their electorate office. If you feel so strongly about the issue, do something about it.
2010/03/07 10:56:27

Voting still doesn't work if a politician has a personal grudge against something, just look at what's been happening with the R18+ rating for video games. Poll's have shown that 90% of people are for having that rating and yet it still gets rejected, what's the point of living in a democratic society if the majority of people vote for one thing and still doesn't get passed.

The only reason why I even voted at the last vote was to vote against Micheal Atkinson as much as I could.

That's what I mean you are forced to go to a polling booth and sign your name off if you have registered your name on the voting roll form if you just write some crap on the voting form the vote will automatically go to the party in power just remember this people not many are aware of this rule ....

Not quite sure who told you that. If you are at all interested in the actual process, have a read ofthis.

quote:
16. A House of Representatives ballot paper is informal
if:
¡¡ the ballot paper has no vote indicated on it; or
¡¡ the ballot paper does not indicate the voterfs
first preference for 1 candidate and an order of
preference for all the remaining candidates.

quote:
30. It is not an offence to vote informally in a federal
election, nor is it an offence to encourage other
voters to vote informally. However, anyone who
encourages electors to vote informally, or to vote
e1,2,3,3,3...f etc on a House of Representatives
ballot paper, will be encouraging electors to waste
their votes as no vote will be counted from these
ballot papers.

In the socialist state of Australia it is nearly impossible to be successful by starting a new political party. Legislation is weighted against new parties in favour of the large well established powerful parties.

Even if a new party has some initial success and has the majority of Australians agreeing with their policies, if the policies contradict what the big boys want you will be bullied, threatened, gaoled, have the state run media continually debunk you, challenge your personal credibility, have your electoral boundries changed without notice to reduce or eliminate your success and any other games they wish to play to see you fail. Even if you want to sell your private family home the way you wish to sell it the media (controlled by the state)will let fly to turn the people against you and make you look like an idiot.

That is politics.

Just ask Pauline.

The only way to make people power count is to have a mass (peaceful) strike where EVERYONE refuses to go to work, refuses to buy petrol, refuses to go to the super market, refuses to use public transport, refuses to drive, refuses to pay bills etc etc on ONE set day/date, with a second day/date to be set soon after. The idea is to make the powerful minority ruling class become aware that the majority (ie the little people) who keep the country together have had enough.

Unfortunately this idea will fail due to the apathy of Australians, the majority of who are on the drip.

But maybe one day when the fuel runs out, or you can't afford to run your car, or the food runs out and you become hungry, people may start to think about doing something. But then it will be too late.

In the mean time we can get the warm and fuzzies complaining to our friends and families and on the forum groups......

I find it a little deceptive when the only place it is listed as, pickup only, is when you click on 'see all details' link and then have to scroll all the way to the bottom...

Why cant it be in the main listing without having to click on further links????????????????????????

not so much something that made me angry, just something i wish this day could have gone without.

today i went back out to the escort to finish the work

(re install of twin dellortos, and new head gasket)

i was turning the key last night, but it wouldn't start, and it was getting too dark, anyway i put the exhaust on, and tried to figure out why it wouldn't start, turns out the cam timing had jumped a few teeth, so i reset, and it started right up.

the thing is unreal! its just so loud and so f*cken ballsy!

BUT then it starts raining, and heres the incident, the tail got a little too happy (didn't know this was possible [:x)] ) and i find myself being thrown around side to side, lock to lock in the middle of a street, and at one stage i flew up over the gutter, then i regained traction, and heres the stupid part, because i was so on edge after what just happened, i try to get the hell out of there, which involved another session of skating.

it was after all this i realised i literally cant take off in the wet unless i baby her!

luckily after i got home, i inspected the damage, everything is fine! not a dent or even a chip in sight! i noticed the wing badge had fallen out, so i drove back down there and found it in the middle of the road! THANKING MY LUCKY STARS IM OK!

I'm all for fatties getting fit and saving the plantet, but why do you have to block a lane on 3 lane highway just to satify your own selfish egos.
Yesterday I was driving back from a job in the right hand lane (as I was about to turn right) and saw two spandexed organ-donors peddling along in the inside lane at 30kph (in an 80 zone)
After almost getting cleaned up crossing 2 lanes, they decided to turn right (where I was heading) The lights were on red, so they "lane-splitted" btwen the cars and took front position in the left hand turning lane. This is specifically for people getting onto Eastlink, so drivers have no alternative but to get in this lane. I was up-front in the XR4 which has an incredibly low 1st gear and was unable to get into 2nd before these two annoying bike-rider could get off the line. I was stuck behind them revving the poo poo out of my car....If I'd changed into second I would have either mowed the fat-so-and-sos down or stalled it for going too slow.
At the next lights, one of the riders decided to give me a mouthful for reving my car. My response was: what the f**k I'm I supposed to do when I'm stuck in first gear, mow you down changing into 2nd!!!! Then he decided holding up traffic by giving me a lecture on HIS rights as a road-user was the best cause of action....Geezzz Bike riders pizz me off, especially in Melbourne which has more bike tracks than f**ing Amsterdam. When are these c**ts going to learn bikes and cars don't mix.

The sooner they introduce rego, licensing and compulsory third party for organ donors that decide to ride on a public road the better.

Australia is an important part of America's strategic defence network.

This is one of the reasons why Holden (well, GM really) and Ford still manufacture here.

If a world war breaks out Holden and Ford manufacturing plants will instantly be converted from manufacturing motor cars to weapons.

Australia is one of the very few politically very stable countries in the southern hemisphere so is very attractive to the US.

In the battle of alloy hub vs forehead, alloy hub came through undamaged. The car has been sitting on the trolley jack since I belted my head so I'll see in the morning just how good it is at holding up the shell.

Well decided to take a few pic's of the RS today parked it just out of Carport. In the garage i hear a crack & go have a look and there is a star in my front screen(4 weeks old). Think what the, go back in garage two minutes later and hear bang on roof, turns out the little %$^& across the road have a sling shot. So call out and they keep walking back into house. Anyway i confront & hold my tongue. Little %^$& now going to be $200 poorer. Car not even on road yet & cop this.

Yep then you get the deagon run on if you are in the right lane you need to be 2 inches off the car infront or some unpleasant individual will cut infront to save waiting 5 seconds to let the oncoming merge.

Then theres the fake speed camera around the corner that you need to slow down for after coming down the "big straight" at whatever speed [88]

Glenn, if they played another ten minutes and were done with it think of how unfair it would be. The MCG couldn't double it's money, the AFL wouldn't collect double it's entry fee, all those poor sponsors wouldn't be able to bombard us with advertising again, not to mention the poor government that has to collect all that gst again. Etch primer will absorb moisture in the air over a few days and will settle on the bare metal resulting in surface rust. A Nissan Patrol + bullbar didn't give way on a T junction and hit my poor Focus ST170 in the left front, peeling the guard off, damage to the A post/inner wing frame, bent strut/wheel. the car was trucked away[8~2]. waiting on the assessor for verdict if the car is to be repaired.....or not...Doh.

Try backing up a personal Art folder that's nearly 200gb while the computer is over heating and freezing.

Looks I need a new case for my computer to improve cooling, I think I'll rig up a fan set up using an old AC to DC converter power supply.

Ouch. The new computer is mounted in an Antec case that makes it very silent (P183). The old one sounded like a turbine. It cooked the northbridge chip after a fan failed.

Seeing the 6 inches of mud in my freshly seam welded ,balsted and etched MK2 rally car after flood water inundated my mates workshop where I am building my car.
2 hours with the gurnie got rid of most of it ,but I will have to remove the etch and surface rust next time I am out there.[:(!]

My MK2 roller was not washed away in the Floods where my car is being built. The guy who owns the workshop had the forethought of putting all of my bits on the tray of a ute and lifting it on the hoist for me.
I did have to spend a couple of hours with the gurnie, getting all of the mud out of the car.

Then on the drive home from work, pouring rain, 1.st to second gear and a tiny bit of wheel spin resulted in me getting a $110 fine and 3 points. FML

Scott,

Could I ask what brand of monitor it is?

The Mrs had exactly the same problem with a 1 year old Medion laptop bought from Aldi that was 2 weeks past the 1 year warranty.

Despite her sending several letters requesting assistance to repair to both Aldi head office in Aussieland and also to Medion in Germany she was refused help. [}:)]

I got the monitor march last year, and its got 3 years warrenty. I just need to ring up Acer so they can pick it and do what ever they need to do. I paid $650 for it and they are now $380 and yet they haven't been replaced by a newer model.

Do they do contra deals? You make a statement and they forget about your fine? [:p] Wouldn't that be great. Everyone does contras at work? [B)]

Picked up my car from the mechanic late yesterday and the tally looks like this:-

* Alt belt as loose as anything (2 fingers under the pulley)
* Battery terminal not bolted on - just sitting there
* Headlights not working (turned out the fuse was out of the socket)
* they broke the lever for the bonnet cable (the one that sits below the dash). Not the cable, but the lever (then the cable broke too). I've got no idea what force they tried to hang off it

That's what happens when they let the apprentice lose on it or a couple of people work on it and everyone thought the 'other guy' attended to 'that'

Aside from that (probably not related to the mechanic) the starter motor died too.

I didn't think the fuel guage worked in Escorts (it was a factory option). I drive by the trip meter. When it gets to 300km its time to fill up.

always "red P plater chicks" they are just shocking.

ive seen them in little corollas and barinas throwing the cars into roundabout at like 60ish kph, tyres schreeching and everything.

saw a red p plater fly towards a round about, thinking she was going to make it in front of a car, then realising she wont, slamming on the brakes, and hitting the car in the rear, causing a small fishtail, and her grill and lights all over the road.

was in the car with a green p plater chick (before red P's came out)

who was driving about 80-90 in a 60 zone, realised she nearly missed her turn, slammed on the brakes with steering full lock, understeer all the way into a street sign.... no one was hurt, the car just got a facial makeover though lol....

i could keep going all day haha....

Well the delivery dude took out my fence on the way out, so thats awesome too! I ended up making a deal with the supplier, who were going to refund the cash entirely. But ended up doing a deal for the blacktop for $240, so figuring it will be a big ask to find another st170 (I almost knew it was to good to be true) I settled for the blacktop I already had delivered, I plan to turbo it at some stage in the future. The refund of the extra cash is pending.... so not entirely resolved, I figure the worst case scenario is I pay retail for the blacktop motor. Plus my fence isn't fixed yet.

what's the difference between Green and Red? It's only red in SA, but I've nearly been rear ended in my AU Wagon a couple times turning right into driveways despite using my indicator and brakes. I like to take it easy as I'm carrying about $2000-$3000 worth of gear including highly explosive batteries.

Last night I was out doing our regular Thursday night driving with a bunch of mates. We normally go to the main meeting point that everybody else goes to on Thursday nights, then from there we go and do our own thing, it's usually a mountain run, so if we decide to do dumb stuff it's out of the way and we aren't going to get booked for it.

Anyways...last night we were driving along and some goon in a Commodore decided to follow us, and he started doing N-bombs all over the place. N-bombs are hilarious, and we were all getting a good laugh out of this dude destroying his g/box, until a cop pulled us all over and went through all of our cars. Two guys had to get their cars towed and the rest walked away with at least 1 defect notice each. They were for fair things, eg. one car had nitrous solenoids in it. My car is still off the road so I was safe.

The part that made me (and everybody else) angry was that the only person who got let off with a warning and no ticket was the guy in the Commodore doing skids...even after the cops made him open his boot and plooms of tyre smoke sprawled out of the boot and he had completely bald rear tyres.

Moral of the story: Drive a sh!tbox and be a total c*ckhead on the road and you'll get away with it. Drive a nice car and be sensible in the public eye and you'll get ar5e raped for it.

Cheers QLD police. You're doing us proud. fools...
