RS2000 Wedding Cake - In Classic Ford Mag UK

Well if you need to have a wedding cake, might as well be Ford. Check out the attention to detail, interior, steering wheel, seats, belts, windscreen wipers, locks, lights, lines and swedges...

......and of course Ford FG XR6T 6-speed manual cars for the gals...

FANTASTIC Mark - I didn't think you were that gifted

Congratulations Mark. Car of the year 2009 and a wedding.
What a lucky man you must be to have such an understanding wife to have a RS 2000 Escort wedding cake. Looks awesome, it must have taken ages to make. Love the added "snail" too.

...It was made by a professional cake maker, I design and engineer electro-mechanical and hydraulic power transmission drives for industrial and mining applications and for sure did not make the cake.
The guy got the snail wrong a little as it was meant to be half out of the bonnet like a character feature...

My wife thought it was the best idea ever to have a cake in the shape of the RS, but it only became reality when we happened upon a one man band that was willing to take on the challenge, including the canopy, which is made of sugar, other company's will only do a convertible...

How many fricken cake making missuses are there on this forum????? Some of you guys must be pretty fat unpleasant individuals! Now most cakes have a secret layer somewhere......what secret was under the bonnet?

Choccie centre, cream filling perhaps????? Hey do you have a 'before' and 'after' shot of the cake?????

Thank you all for the lovely comments. So how much should one pay for a cake? The numbers range quite a lot.

Apparently some photos in the "letters" section of the latest Classic Ford Magazine. The OZ rep for the mag sent them? Information inconclusive at this stage...

Yeah cool little bit of news.....but did I get a slice to eat? NO! Did Mark send me the base to lick off some of the scraps? NO! I didn't even get the mixing spoon!

Well done Mark, get cake, and the feedback has been pretty cool too. I have a feeling there are a few 'copies' of your RS being made in the UK as I type.

mmmmmmmm...cake..

I have the boot in the freezer so I can send you some! It is really yummy.
The guy that made the cake has had many calls for specialty car cakes as he used mine on his website...

If you take safe search off the Mk1 cake shows up... strange that when ss is on it doesnt.

Congrats on the cake and the funeral (oops wedding)!

You just forgot one small detail on the cake.

There are no oil leaks - or should that be chocolate leaks!
It is an Escort remember!!

That's awesome Mark, I had been hanging out to see the pictures ever since you told me about it. I reckon that bloke must have serious patience, how good is the detail! I don't think I could have cut it up, would have taken it home to put on display. Your doing well with your magazine features. I'll look out for it in Classic Ford.

Cheers Matt
