Stuart's Mk2 2 door

Hi,

I am Stuart I live in WA I have just bought a 1977 Mk2 2door escort which i am slowly fixing my plans are to keep the car on the road i am not interested in a full rebuild i don't have the time or space plus i love to drive it so i am currently fixing the inside new carpet, new dash roof lining & door trims!
Mechanically its fine previous owners just spent $2000 on new bushes rubbers, steering rack , brake rebuild, electronic ignition & moving the battery to the boot!

There are a few things i am looking for C-Pillar trim and Rear door cards!

ill post a pic of my dash i just flocked its very easy to do and looks great compared to how i bought it.

A few before and after shots of the dash!

some of the pic are not working

any way you can buy the Flocking powder from timbercon in Perth or online you paint on the glue/paint then sprinkle the power over and leave it for 24 hours i ended up doing two coats to get it a bit thicker as for the crackes in the dash i cut them out and filled them with foam filler dont use bog it will only crack.

hey mate do you have any idea how those arches were put on? ive always had the idea of those arches with the mounting lip reversed, as to mount from inside the guard. no need to body filler + paint work.

just wondering if this had that sort of treatment.

i bought the car with them already on the arch's are bolted on with a rubber strip... i would like to remove the rubber and get a tighter fit but a bit of bog may be needed!

im intrested as to what you mean, by "they are bolted on with a rubber strip"?

ive been intrested in arches for a while, if u could have a look inside the guard, or if u end up removing them, and tell us how they were mounted that would be great. cuz they definately dont look like they were attached the normal way.

cheers

flocking goes along way so a pack of fiber and a pot of glue will do heaps..

i just wish the dash and door trims where on the car not on the shelf in my study!!!! but thats what happens when you get distracted and change gear box's build houses and have kids!

i got them from my father in-law (KCF Rallysport) in Kippa Ring north of brisbane he gets them made by a local upholster dont ask how much as my wife brought them back from brisbane for me and i would not have a clue!

I know what you mean. I have even less excuse, I have a great big garage that the Eski lives in but so many other projects on the run that the Escort is only just starting to get attention again.

Still love this car, a two door flat front like this is my end goal with an Eski.
