yeh its changed hands since then its now with my old man so you must of met the previous owner who has done a fantastic job.it doesnt see much daylight now unfortunately locked up for dry weather use only, hes a diehard rs junky been in english rs owners club for 30 odd years and owned some nice motors so i guess this is him holding onto whatevers left of his youth.

Hmmm interesting.. I know both these cars, both very tidy examples. Jaffa was a Canberra car and I used to see it parked outside the national library everyday when I lived there. Was yellow back then and had twin webers, hotwires. A few very minor dings but no rust anywhere. I tried to buy it but the owner (Ben) didn't want to sell then in late 2004 sold it for a song to someone (craigsa?) on this forum who took it to Sydney and then to Geraldton? Haven't seen it since the original classic ford gathering in Canberra... 2004.. there might be some pictures of it floating around somewhere.

And the white RS used to live about 50m from my place until a few weeks ago

yep thats right.craig still lives in geraldton and recently sold the car to us.that triggered me into buying the white one of a guy callled ashley who lives in warwick wa.he mentioned there was another rs floating around the neighbourhood, possibly you.craig did mention the previous condition of the car and it being yellow but it has changed considerably since then and its a great example i think anyway.other than not having the original recaro seats its close to being english specs.its good to get some history on these cheeRS.

i also saw Jaffa at the British Car Day. One of the nicest RSs I have seen. Your white car looks a lot like my mates. He will be pleased :-)

That white RS looks just like a turbo pinto powered car that I did a couple of hot laps in at Barbagallo about 10 years ago! Can't remember the name of the bloke who owned it though.

Cheers,
Scotty P.

I love the rims on the white one: what are they?

they are performance austars and have had the grooves from original wheel machined out where the centre cap was and painted same white as the car,all by previous owner.not sure where he bought them, think it was the quokka.

Thanks spudde! Thought it was the same car.

The wheels are very similar to a Compomotive MO:

Hey,
you are better to direct to UK for wheels, as the shops here will tell you they dont do them for Escorts as are too old or any other reason to 'move you along'...i been thru it yrs back, i was quoted $650p/wheel 12yrs ago for Compomotive MO's 15x7. the shop that quoted me the price was/is a big Aus wide dealer.
The shop i went thru in the UK is Peter Lloyd Rallying, give them a go as they very helpfull.
When i got my MO's i took 1 to the Aus dealer to prove a point that they are available and much cheaper, he wasn't impressed !!
Just my 5c worth

martymexico i like your style, sounds like something i would do also.will give peter lloyd ago but even compomotive in england tell me they only do runs of the wheels i want once in a blue moon.so i haven't had a price unfortunately scotty but im looking everyday for a solution..

Hi, i think they have silver caps,
i looked at the price on 1 and says 76pounds and 57pounds postage...remember i bought these in 1997!!, the exchange rate was nice then too, 56p to 1AU, back when the mad cow disease was rampant in the UK
