Good buy mate. For wheels, i'd go the superlites with charcol centres, its a good comprimise between the original colour and black.

I agree with Wiggy.
Glenn,... lend Dave your wheels biatch

Then again,
I've got some 13 x 6 & 7 minilights with new michilens on them.

These ones...

IMO...Superlites whilst they suit the car, have been done to death on RS2000's. Try to find something to make it stand out from the pack.

Yes the rims on rear in picture have 225/50/15 rubber on them, front 195/50/15.
I kept the rims for my other Escort, I sold it with the Ghia rims as Dave said.

quick update, fitted a new 2 inch exhaust system and got rid of my big milo tin exhaust tip, and got my new starter motor, alternator reconditioned, and new battery also had a problem with the gearshifter coming entirely out of the box, damn nylon threads, think its time for one of those quaife short shifters, all metal ah the never ending fun of old cars, still you gotta love them :)

few more additions this week, bought some polished Globe contessa mags, quaife quickshifter and an rs gearknob, will get some pictures up on the weekend when its a sunny day, unless you want to upload yours first Rhys?

tax time so ive decided to spend some more cash on it, finally decided on getting some bilstein shocks all round, and gonna do either a nolathane or superpro bush kit through the car, and also buying some dba slotted rotors and some heavy duty bendix pads, and if i have any cash left over get some new leafs for the rear and get rid of the chopped springs in the front, hopefully will feel like a hole new car after all this [:x)]
2008/08/15 20:56:08
Mish
good stuff mate. lookin mint
if u dont mind me asking what kind of money are the bilsteins going to set u back. are they a new direct fit or a rebuilt modified set.
Cheers Mish
2008/08/16 15:30:08
Inferno115
they are direct fit to a 2 litre strut, could not be bothered messing around with anything else, and they are going to cost me 380 for rears and 500 for fronts, the fronts are made to order so its a long wait for them to come from germany [B)]
2008/08/16 18:25:14
Inferno115
well my quickshifter arrived today, so much smoother then standard rs one, also fitted new gearbox mount as the old one was original and soft as jelly, ordered my bilstien shocks came to a total of $908 and theyre coming over from Sydney so that should get the car feeling a bit nicer, ill also do adjustable strut tops and new front and rear springs and a superpro bush kit while im at it, can any one recommend a brand of strut tops ?, and with any luck all my brake components should arrive tommorow so ill fit them up 2morow night, so over the next few weeks my car should feel totally different

glad to hear your cars going well! a paint job like taht deserves fancy struts and brakes and shifters etc

my car got so bad today to the point where it wont even start, but im getting lube mobile to come suss it out.

is ur new suspension gonna set a different ride hieght?
2008/08/18 19:22:33
Inferno115
yeah when in doubt, scream for help haha

nah if i cant get springs off the shelf ill get some customs made up because i would like to keep this ride height, looks spot on i rekon

and as for the fancy struts i figured if im gonna do it at all might aswell do it properly

well my cars up and running with twin webers today, got heinrich motorsport to make up an accelerator bracket for me, im not to good with a welder so they did a good job, its not running as good as can be but pretty damn well for not being tuned definately gained power, (running rich as came off car with cam and headwork) and have some noltec adjustable strut tops and some new king springs on order so hopefully will have a bit nicer car for the up coming track day, ill get the car on dyno this week and see if i can improve on the 57.5 rwkw figure i pulled with a stock motor

well dynoed my new setup today, twin 40 on a standard motor and pulled 65.02 kw a gain of 7.2 kw over a standard induction setup and its making alot more torque all through rev range, im pleased, least it wasn't a loss, so now time for a cam and some head work
2008/04/09 15:09:30
Inferno115
purchased a new engine on weekend, couldnt help myself
heres the specs:
20 thou over bore. Shot pened rods. flat top pistons. balanced. Head port and polish. new over sized vales (triple angles, facing). new valve springs and rockers. wade cam. inlet opens at 50 deg and closes at 77 deg, exh opens at 63 deg and closes at 48degs. Inlet duration 307 deg, Exh 291 deg. Over lap of 98 deg. 400 thou lift. Adjustable cam gear. alloy rocker cover. pace maker extractors

previous owner made 152 hp atw on efi throttle bodies, so im expecting less on twin 40's but should still be a fun package
started ripping out engine tonight, should finish and hopefully get it running by Sunday afternoon, then off to the carby specialist next week if all goes to plan!

well picked up the engine yesterday arvo and got it all in by about 10 pm that night had a few minor setbacks, such as a stripped engine mount, god knows how it happend but thanks to the kindness of Rhys (2ltscort) a second hand mount was supplied to get me on my way again, now the only drama im having is gettin the thing to run[xx(] ive got spark and ive got fuel so im assuming its gotta be timing, ill have a bit more of a play around with it after work today but hopefully she shood be a drivable by Sunday night with some luck that is

well after a month of being down and gettin the carbys tuned ( had a major setback with an elusive dodgy ignition module) the car is back on the road, feels much more powerful, and alot more grunt, carbys are spot on aswell so i was happy with that, i have tafe on november 17th so will be getting it on the dyno to see power gains, but before then the car should hopefully get a track day at mallala under its belt, but before i go blasting around the track, i plan to get a new set of wheels or spacers for my current ones, fit up front bilstiens and kmac strut tops, and fix a few oil leaks, then i should have a nice decent package
2008/10/15 19:27:29

Sounds like it's gonna be a nice bit of kit with those parts.

well had got some braided brake lines today great improvement in pedal feel, not spongey at all anymore rock solid so im pleased with that, they were all split so had to be done, gettin my radiator flushed and top tank repaired tomorow and then hopefully by end of week ill also get the old air con fan in nose cone wired up to a switch for when the car gets to hot i can flick it on, its all slowly coming together now, also picking up my strut tops Thursday as theyve arrived from nsw, for anyone who wood still want adjustable kmacs even though they are discontinued a guy in nsw bought all the moulds and they are now being produced and are available from car torque out in kent town in south aus, ask for julie she really knows her stuff

Dave,
Who did you get the brake lines through? I found them a great improvement also.

On a side note, you've done a top job getting it looking good, I saw it parked out front of your work tonight with the sun reflecting off the side of it. Looking very nice.
