Help please decoding my MK1 Capri

I'm fairly certain it had an engine replacement. I can't find any other plates or tags but I'm not 100% certain where else to look. I what I do know is that it is Australian built GT in June 1966. What I don't understand is the colour code. It looks like Candy Apple Red.

Thanks in advance

There should be an ID Plate fixed in the engine bay on the RH guard! (example attached).
The 711M6015BA photo is of the engine block part number code which means that it is a 1600GT engine from that era, this is NOT the engine number!.
The CK17JR51379 photo shows the Prefix & Chassis Number, where C=Product Origin (UK), K=Assembly Plant, Homebush, NSW, 17=Capri 1600GT, J=1969, year assembled, R=June, Month assembled and the 51379 is the unique vehicle serial number, which according to my records, slots in to the June 1969 run of numbers for a 1969 Capri.
The JC1329B photo shows the original engine number fitted, where J=Capri, C=1600GT manual, 1329B unique serial number for that engine.
An engine number was also stamped on the top of the block, but these were often shaved off when an engine was reconditioned.
I hope all this information helps and if there is an ID Plate attached put up the photo and I'll decode that for you also!
    Cheers, Terry

That engine is certainly not the original with that casting/part number. The first part of 711M… is the year the block was cast, so 1971 for this one.

The JC number stamped on the drivers side shock tower (in combination with the CK17 number on the slam panel) points to a 1969 1600GT capri with a manual gearbox. If the shock tower number started with JD it would have been an automatic gearbox originally (and the hole in the floor for the shifter would be rectangular rather than round for a manual gearbox).

Looking at the remaining paint in the pictures the original colour was Vermillion Fire.
