Getting back to the seals on my MK1 today , the Tamo door seals seem ok.
Before installing glass I need to install the windows winder mechanism and that was not easy as I only had 4 bolts, needing 8 so instead of hunting thru tubs and tubs of bolts I went the metric way and drilled the threads out with a 5mm bit and then threaded with an M6 tap.
First was to drill

These are the new and old screws

Quick thread method

And now I have metric threads which is so much easier to find bolts and screws.

Installed bailey channel from rare spares, which I thought was wrong but to my suprise they included the thinner bailey for the front rail, nice going and works great. With the glass in and the quarter window the door almost looks complete now , glass moves up and down nice , next is wait for the clips and install the inner felt strip. Think I'll buy the aus style outer blade seals from RSA, home are the cheap days buying from UK.
Bonus story, I was looking for those pesky screws and found 2x front screen seals that are still soft and not weathered so a quick clean up with CRC the better one will be used and the other will be saved for the van that's next in line..
Oh if anyone wants this door glass seal clips, I found a seller on Amazon selling a bunch of 1x for under $10 so I bought 3x sets, they are too suit Cortina mk1-5 and escort 1 and 2 models.
