Spotto

Just spent a week in the Margaret river/ south west region of WA. Classic car culture is alive and well. Can't remember seeing so many cars of varying makes, ages and models. The veteran car meets for a drive day monthly and the Hotrod/ street machine club is huge.
This took the cake though. A little 100e van parked up with the Rod club.
Out of place with the big boys maybe?
Not with a small block windsor V8 stuffed into it! What a machine...
Cheers Drew

Think You meant 300e , but it's still a cool van. One day I'll get to start on my prefect van (99% complete original) . the time being its used as a shed within my shed!

There are some wee beasties about, my son lives in Mt Isa ( outback mining town in QLD ) for those who don't know, sent me a photo of a Mk 1 Escort with a 3.5l rover V8 in it. The owner provided us with a nice XW GT for a wedding car for my son's wedding this weekend just gone. Didn't charge for it, does it for the love, plus licence fee to operate is way over the top for any return you get from hiring it.  Len

Hi Len,  Do you know any info on the Mk1 V8? Looking at that conversion at the moment and got the ok from my engineer. Cheers Peter.

This guy is a pommie, this conversion was a common one in its day, you might find a bit of info on the net. Might even be covered in an earlier edition of Classic Ford magazine.   I haven't had an opportunity to talk to him, as my visit was only for the weekend, he has got a whole multitude of cars, had 7 of them on display at the car show. His esky is street registered.  Len
