Gear lever fork lube?

Hi everyone,

Does the gear lever fork for a Type E 4 speed require any lube on it, and if so, what kind?  I bought a shiny new quickshifter, and it looks too clean compared to the old stock one with 37 years worth of crud on it.

Thanks.

if it moves, slides , pivots then it needs lube, something light like a lithium grease, which will stick to the metal but not melt and become a puddle because of the heat.

Yep, got the saddle, but a little bit of lube never hurts...
