1979 Mk2 4 Door Escort Seat Mounting

Hi All,
I purchased my Escort off a bloke who started to work on the vehicle as his project. The vehicle came with all the interior stripped out of it. What I would like to know is how are the front seats mounted in the vehicle,  it looks like a rail has been cut out (see attached image) of both sides.
Thanks in advance
Mark.

It looks like it had Ghia seats installed before removal as some welds are still there from std seat bkts which were cut off and welded up any rips in the steel (usually happens) . Here is a pic of what used to be there.. as most escorts have .

except rs2000/ghia, pre 1971 (low backs) ...i retro fitted low backs to a mk1 and it's a h3ll of a job , pic of this too for comparison.
